shopaholic, when did she get df'd?
More than a decade ago. It divided the congregation for a little while and kind of rocked the circuit. Her being a regular pioneer, already attended pioneer school and being on every assembly & convention no doubt played into her being df'd. For a while after that, young people didn't want to get baptized and parents encouraged them to wait until their senior year of high school...until the CO kept this as his "needs of the circuit" topic for a few years. Then it was back to business as usual.

Can Un-baptized Be Apostates?
by Patty Cake inwhat is the currnent thought on this?
is the bethelite definition different now from the one in the congregations?.
i'm wondering because my bethelite brother suddenly was cold/ stopped talking to me a couple of years ago - after years of communication.

I've seen it a lot...even have relatives and friends that fit into both categories. For some older brothers, its completely intentional as they had their 'eye' on the younger sister and just followed through on their plot.

Will my cong inform my old cong in another country if I get DF'd?
by oldlightnewshite ini emigrated to another country 10 years ago and did my fade.
if i decide to get myself df'd (by telling the next elder who visits me to "go and do one") is it likely they'll send a letter to my old congregation to tell them the news?
i'm from the uk but am living in a non-english speaking country.

If he's written to them in the past, then he its very likely he will inform your prior congregation that you were df'd. If you had moved back to the UK and got Df'd, they would most likely not inform the congregation in the non-English speaking country.

If you lost your job because you were marked & they broke your employment contract because of that, sue them for wrongfull dismissal. Ditto the housing situation.
If you have the resources to do it...go for it. Otherwise, go live well...it will drive them crazy

Do you believe in an annointed class?
by irondork inregarless of their identity - in fact, if they are really "discreet" their identity should probably remain unknown - do you believe the bible speaks of a spirit annointed class of folks, a limited number of humans that have been called to heaven to serve with jesus?.

No, I no longer believe in the bible as a book on which one should base their religious faith. It does have some good lessons but then again so did Aesop.
In the context of the JW religion, has anyone else noticed that the "annointed" tend to be kind of crazy?

JW nephew graduation party cancelled... your insight is requested
by Alfred ini have a jw nephew in another state who was at very the top of his high school senior class this year.
because of this, my sister (an elder's wife) had planned and sent out invitations to his "graduation party" which would be held at a community center with all the bells and whistles.
i actually bought plane tickets for my wife and i to attend this party immediately after receiving the invitation in the mail.
