  What is this new Announcement to take place in August?

  just heard from an elder.

  he told me that there is another change to be announced in august.

  he didn't know more about it.. any other info?.

  There are several big announcemeets coming this summer. It has all of the elders in my family in a frenzy about Jehovah speeding up the work and his chariot going into high gear. My relatives that are in the circuit work went so far as to say they doubt the system will last past this year and that we should expect a big fulfilling of a major prophecy in October.

  Most JWs are really excited by the changes and have become more critical of nonbelievers. They see the new donation arrangement as a loving act. They are excited about the changes with the RBC and the supposedly new (not remodeled) 15,000 Kingdom Halls to be built in preparation for the new world.

  It's all quite ridiculous.

  All appointed men are being told they have to pioneer now!

  yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.

  they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.

  I remember them doing something like this in the past. All of the elders in my hall panicked until the CO said they could be excused from it by the PO (as it was called then). Ministerial servants could not be excused. The PO excused all the elders including himself.

  hello jwn!

  i don't get to check in here or comment as often as i would like because i have been working so hard at school...but i just have to share my news in hopes that newbees can see that taking the leap to enroll in higher education is worth it-.

  i am graduating this spring with a bachelor degree in art history, minor anthropology...many people (including nonjw's have given me flack for choosing a "dead end" career path) but since leaving the watchtower organization's group-think mentality and "leaning on my own understanding" instead... i decided to say fuck everyone else's opinion...i am going to pursue my passion to work in a museum as a curator or archivist-.

  What awesome news! Sharing your excitement about positive happenings in your life after leaving the JWs is not bragging at all. I hope others read your post and know that it is possible to have a fulfilling life that outside of the religion.

  i know for me it was soon after lurking here for awhile and reading some threads on the issue.

  i remenber when i tore it into little tiny pieces.

  it felt so liberating..

  Interestingly, its never been recorded in my medical records that I was a JW and not to receive blood.

  About a year after accepting it was all a lie. One day I looked in my wallet and it just seemed like the worst decision ever, so I shredded it.

  31 years young tomorrow, B Day...four years of freedom from the towers...

  joined this website in july 2010 and havent looked back...so happy to be watchtower free!!!!

  (i was born feb 16th 1983).. i'll be 31 years old tomorrow and i feel indifferent about it.

  as usually my mom said your gonna be 31 but she didnt say happy birthday.

  Happy Birthday! You've given yourself a great present...you got out of the org early!

  BTW, my family does the same thing. Each year they call and ask how it feels to be whatever age. I figure that's their way of saying happy birthday.

  I told the elders that I would take blood and donate blood

  i found it important to be honest with my wife.

  so i told her about my conscience decision that in a medical urgency i want blodless medicine but if a transfusion of blood or the 4 prohibited components is necessary to save my life or health i would accept it.

  this would apply especially also for our child (that is not such a problem as in our country the wts recommends to comply with doctors as they have the right to decide concerning minors).. i showed her the reasons why i came to that conscience decision (biblical and logical reasons) and that jehovah and jesus do not like anyone to die because of this wrong bible application.. .

  Not sure why you need to tell them anything. Your decision on blood is a personal one but I guess you're doing it for your wife.

  I was taken before the elders once by a relative because of a change I made to the blood card (which I no longer carry). The elders informed me what would happen if I accepted blood and stated it was a personal decision and asked that I not share it with others. They also prayed that I would changed my mind if I were ever in such a situation. I was not marked and continued to pioneer.

  Regarding the FDS being God's chosen channel, the FDS no longer believes this to be the case so why should you? The new understanding is that they are waiting to be chosen.

  who was in any doubt that our jw believe is a marketing model, see this pictures of the still existing hq of jw at columbia heights.. earlier comments on jwn that something is going to change in the organisation, these comments are true.. in a few years we will not talk about the watchtower society, we wil talk about jw.org.

  i think the current leadership will make a transfer to a new start.

  The Big Announcement..this week

  supposedly the bethel homes will get some announcement today and the congregations will announce the new something by the end of the week..

  If its true about the school now allowing single JW women, it will be a dud from the start unless the classes are combined with the single JW men. IMO, then single JW women would take 2 months off from work to attend the school.

  However, if the classes are combined there are a number of ways that would be a disaster. For some women, if they don't find a prospective mate within the first few weeks then she will leave. Putting single JW women and single JW men together for 2 months...too much tension.

  The program will be short-lived.

  Beginning of Electronic Assemblies?

  do you think this could have been an experiment to see how smoothly these events can be processed, and what the reaction is from the rank and file?

  it would sure save a lot of money if events like this could replace at least the one day circuit assemblies.

  there has to be some recognition that the "flock" is becoming weary and they don't have the funds to be travelling to these events.
