Isn't there a 20 year rule or something regarding what people should pay attention to in the literature? Anyway, its still a valid point. At one of my last pioneer meetings before leaving a few years ago, the CO mentioned that too many pioneers were overweight. That was the central theme of his talk.

We were told by the CO at a pioneer meeting that watching R rated movies would mean immediate removal of privileges. Most folks simply did it in the privacy of their home or drove to a theatre out in the middle of nowhere. There was typically some excuse as to why it was okay to watch certain R rated movies. As far as I know, R rated movies are still a big no-no.
Many R rated movies in the US carry a comparable rating of G in other countries.
I remember while living in another country and seeing a movie that was rated G there but R in the US. When I talked to folks back in the US and said how great the movie was they told me I knew better than to see a R rated movie. When I told them it was G where I was, most informed me that it didn't matter and if its R in the US, thats what mattered. However, others used it as an excuse to go see the movie.
i had surgery this weekend and the history channel had a great special on the last days.
they actually highlighted the generation teaching and the millerites.
benny hinn was on and he stated that 1948 was the key year and the generation lasted 100 years.
I enjoy watching those programs on the History Channel. When I first started my fade, I could not get enough of them. Its interesting to hear other perspectives on the last days and how they interpret the bible. Lets you know that the whole religion thing is a farce.
I did, for about a year after I started pioneering. Then one evening during a personal prayer, I said aloud "why am I talking to myself" but still continued to pioneer many years after that. Wow, thats some strong voodoo...

just got back from memorial.
only went so that i could say to my parents that i had gone and to remind myself why i left.. oh my word!!!
it was sooooo painful.. got there a bit late - it was a couple of minutes into the talk.
Left work late and went to the mall then went grocery shopping. I forgot all about it yesterday until I saw this thread this morning.
I'm sure my family will call and ask if I went and the answer will be "No, the evening got away from me." If I give 'em an inch, they'll want a mile...no need in giving them false hope, they already have enough of that.
for me, it was always the theocratic ministry school/field service meeting.. strangely, i never minded giving talks, because i always wanted to perform and have virtually no stage fright.
but, listening to some of the deadly dull talks used to make me look at the clock a lot.
i always felt sorry for some poor slob who had to give his first bible reading on something like job's daughters raping him after getting him drunk.. i swear i think our school overseer did it on purpose because he was a mean sob.. and, i hated field slavery as my parents became witnesses when i was about 12, never did get a good attitude about it.
Theocratic Ministry School and Service Meeting...total borefest, although I always looked forward to the local needs...hated when they reviewed old mag articles as I wanted to hear the dirt going on the congo.
Oh yeah, it was also the first one I stopped attending, although my fade was relatively quick.
