dude, you're brilliant....keep 'em coming...!
what do you do for a living anyway??
i have been trying to reconnect with my fleshly family for over a year now, since i left the jws.
for some reason, i find it extremely difficult.
i don't find them to be very giving or caring people.
very much, and I was not even from a JW family, if you can believe that.
i was born the son of a poor sharecropper, just kidding.
my family has issues, my dad died when i was 8, and my basket case mom had a hard time raising us.
it was up to my older sister to help "raise" my mom, and us kids.
i got stories, including my mom getting shot by one of her freeloader druggie boyfriends, she lived, but worst of all not learning from it.
yeah, i could say i have my share of baggage. you don't control who you're given as family...you can only control how much they affect you by keeping your distance.
thanks all...for making me feel welcome.
my wifey does post here, but I won't let the cat out of the bag yet. she's a live wire alright...! she's got lots of stories.
Not being a wiseass, but I've recommended her to see a counselor to help her work through her stuff and heal.
she's very headstrong and doesn't listen. in the meantime her therapy consists of hitting Ebay.
any tips for getting her to counseling? I can't even get her to go the the gym. I must have no backbone or something. then again, being bruised by those idiot watchtower guys, she has a problem with any kind of authority ....
just announced on cnn.
saw her on larry king live last week and she looked awful.
God rest her soul, thankfully her suffering is over....
hello folks,
greetings from sunny U.S.A. good to be here among the lively and thoughtful conversation. I can tell there are lots of stories, baggage, and healing...
i'm not JW, i'm not even an Ex-JW, but I'm married to an ex JW. too many stories. sounds like Jim Jones' cult or even branch Davidians. that's when religion doesn't do you good anymore.
see you on the boards!

i recall my viewpoint about apostatesi despised them thoroughly.
thewatchtower called for shunning all of those who rejected gods .
depends on the damage- Jews had pretty clear damages. other damage, like 'emotional grief' is hard to measure and attribute. cults suck and mental 'duress' sucks, no joke. however, unless they put a gun to your head, you have some choices. choice #1 being to get out.
other stuff like "they ruined my marriage" or "family discord- my mom can't talk to me anymore" is a bit harder to nail down, even though you see it.
when you say "accountable for damages", do you mean is in legally, or accountable to the people they hurt, ?
the catholic church lately has been found very accountable to the tune of $600 million, for the very concrete damage of molestation.
cults suck. that's why i don't go to church. I have very strong faith and relationship with God, its people and organized religion that I have problem with.
i won't relinquish my power by telling a religion/church that I'll do whatever they tell me to. i found that it prevents alot of grief.
