Whoops. Too fast on the "enter" trigger. Happens sometimes. (ha.ha. yeah, I know)
Anyway, I recognize that this may be (or has been) a touchy subject for some, so I understand if you refrain from this thread.
Yet, I would appreciate any "condensed" versions you may be willing to share.
First mine.
I have been "unscripturally" (I know, it doesnt matter, but thought I'd throw that aspect in) for a bit over a year now. I successfully
pulled off a "fade", so in other words, she's in, I'm out. Things have come to a head and I know that a divorce will be happening soon.
Which, while sad, is needed to finalize things. No children, which is a plus. In the marriage, we were both miserable,
but she pulled the separation trigger, as I was still, unfortunately, under the Borg programming that tells you to "fight"
to stay in a bad marriage. Of course, that notion has since been purged from my mind.
The separation has had it's highs and lows, but in general, I believe that I have learned alot about myself and gained strength of mind,
as it were. It's still hard (loneliness) sometimes, but strangely, I am much happier knowing that I have the unwritten future ahead of me.

P.S. Sorry about the unformatted paragraph. My formatting does'nt seem to be working.

About that April 2008 Kool-Aid
by WTWizard ini read the kool-aid scan of april 2008, and sure enough the first article is about "valueless things".
i thought they were going to all but ban entertainment.
what they did do was tell people that relaxation and fun have their place, but compared it to dessert.

What is the motives of the GB?
by sweet pea inok guys and dolls, want your input here.
a friend of mine has a question...... .
"the brothers in bethel/headquarters seem very sincere and loving - what possible motive would they have in trying to deceive people, what do they get out of it?

I agree. I believe that, like Ray Franz noted: They are sincere, but "victims of victims". I think that they believe that they ARE, in fact, being guided by God. But, really, you could take
about 10 "genuine and knowledgeable" elders from anywhere and the result would be the same. After all, they themselves stated as much in last year's KM. If any of them DO have
any doubts, they won't be the one to voice them, lest they suffer the same fate as Ray.
An organization's sole purpose is to ensure it's own survival.

Any introverts out there?
by wings ini took freedom frogs personality test yesterday, three times.
my lowest introverted score was 67. i think that borders on recluse.
are you comfortable with that part of yourself?.
-
Bourne
As an Introvert myself, I tend to agree with the scripture that basically states that "anyone isolating him(her)self, seeks their own selfish longing." BUT, I think that there is a BIG
difference between being introspective (which, by the way, not enough people do) and being hedonistically (is that a word?) selfish.
Also, I too have found that since separating myself from the collective, I am woefully inept at times in social situations, but I'm getting better.

Scanned PDF of Russell's 1st Book: The Object & Manner of Our Lord's Return
by cabasilas inthis exists as a text file in a couple of different editions, but as far as i know it's never been posted as a scanned image of the original printed edition.
it's from a copy of a photocopy, so the clarity is not perfect but it's plenty readable.
kudos also to a fellow jwder who helped me get the ocr to work better.

Thank you Cabasilas!
I will add this to my already bloated hard drive and examine this with "eagerness of mind".
