You definition of life and my definition life seem to differ on this point. There are those who see a fetus as nothing more than a 'clump' of cells, which is the basic point you are putting across. Picking at something as simple as someone saying their opinion on life and abortion. Well life to me starts at the conception of the child, just because the child has no accessable memories of their time in the womb or before a certain age means nothing. As a Psychology graduate I learnt a lot about child psychology, and the fact is children have memorys of before they are born, a day old child can tell the difference between their mothers voice and that of a stranger, this is something they must have learnt in the womb, so really to imply that a fetus is not really alive until it is born is wrong.
So really you'll find I am not in error. Of course the likelihood in you actually taking in and processing the scientific proof of a fetus being able to think and process sound, may not happen, but that cannot be helped.
This is one of the reasons why I am opposed to abortion, but also because I feel that life as I see it or the potential life as you see it is valuable, too many people are too ready to abort a child they did not want, well maybe they should have thought about what they were doing before the child was concieved!

I have a degree in psychology, three A Levels and 9 GCSE's, yet still I am unable to find a job that pays higher than the minimum wage, you want to know why, I'm actually overqualified for the work I want to do, and not only that I don't have enough experience in the sort of work I want to do.
Maybe the fact is I have a different opinion on such matters to what you do. After all people are entitled to their own opinions. I do believe that the people at the top are paid too much, a lot of the time they are not worth half of what they are paid, so my logic tells me they are paid too much. Whereas £5.50 an hour is not enough for someone to be earning, this is the minimum wage for people over 21 in the UK, if you work 9 til 5, 5 days a week this is not enough money, not for a family to live on, maybe for a single person living on their own, but not for a family.
With regards to disabilities, people who have things such as ME, and as I have Fibromyalgia, find it hard to work due to constant tiredness and such like. Not everyone is capable of working. And those who do have ot find work and keep it, after all its not as easy to get a job and keep it as you might like to make out.
Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it can be seen that mine differs from yours :)!

Something I have thought time and time again, there is nothing to benefit invading and overthrowing a country which has nothing for them, such a pity because there is so much going wrong in Zimbabwe.
I guess thats how capitalists work they don't like it if they aren't going to get anything from it! -

With regards to the tax, I might only be thinking of the UK, laws about tax differ from country to country and I don't know American ones.

With regards to be being 'wrong' to redistribute fortune, I don't agree with the amount of money some people apparently 'earn'. But then I have a more communist out look on the whole thing.
Well I hardly think it funny refer to things which took place in Nazi Germany where people died because of eugenics. But then I generally don't find things like that funny :P!
With regards to the third world, the majority of the money sent over there is eaten up by admin and such like, these so called charities aren't actually getting the money there. And on top of it these countries are already in debt. I refuse to support Oxfam because the fact is they are sponsored by the world bank who keep third world countries in the predicament they are in.
On top of it these countries are in such a predicament because of western countries. Westerners went in, stole the resources of these countries and enslaved the people of these countries.
We do need more children, Yes the population is aging. People put off having children in favour of careers, and then find they are too old to have them, so we end up with childless wealthy couples.

Well I do think that those who have fortune should be willing to help those who aren't so fortunate. If only there were ways of helping people into work which actually worked, because the majority leave over qualified people in under paid jobs.

I agree with you, yes it would be a good idea for people who are able and fit to work who happen to be on benefits to work. Unfortunately our government doesn't seem to realise that this is a good idea, but hopefully one day they might.
As to the third world counties, it makes me sad that there are actually people, in this world who cannot afford to live, who cannot afford to eat. And what makes me even more sad is the fact this was caused in part by countries in the west.
No one should have to starve.
You are also right when you say that the only children who should be taken from their parents are those who are abused by their parents, as their parents do not deserve to have them.

In reference to sterilisation and abortion, you are thinking of eugenics, yes something that was something advocated by the Nazis. I'm sure thats something that really needs to be brought into being again! -

Murder is the taking of a life, a fetus is a child in my opinion, a fetus is alive, to abort is to kill, to kill is to murder. It doesn't have to be 'illegal', murder is not actually written into law, murder has always been considered to be wrong and that is why it is seen as 'illegal'. If killing was made legal in law would you turn round and kill everyone you didn't like, I assume you wouldn't. Just because abortion is currently 'legal' doesn't mean that it is necessarily right.
There are a lot of people who would disagree with your support of abortion. -

The Uk has an ageing population I'll have you know, yes some people are having children but there are a lot leaving it too late.
Well if people want to have children thats up to them, its not up to others to tell them they can't. Sterilisation is something which is cruel. No one has the right to pick and choose who should and who shouldn't have children, that is very much like the whole nazi thing, its like saying we only want the ones we know will provide us with good little workers. And I don't think that is right.
The only reason there might be an 'overpopulation' is because people are tending to live a lot longer than they used to, this is because conditions of living have improved, due to the government actually helping people who deserve it, oh and because not enough houses have been built.
Just because you believe it would be better if people had less children, or if people were sterilised to stop them having children you don't want them to have doesn't mean what you say is right or the opinion of the majority of people.
Your opinion may be of the abortion camp, the sterilisation camp. But there are others who would say you are wrong. I for one am. My opinion is different, just because my opinion is different doesn't mean that it is any less valid than yours it. In my view you opinion means nothing. -

I don't think that there is any reason to sterilise anyone. Steps such as that were taken by the American government not so long ago.
And as for abortion, I am absolutely opposed to abortion, it is nothing more than murder. If someone wishes to have a child and happens to be fertile enough to have one then I see nothing against them having that child. There is not enough done to encourage couple to have children, too many people take their fertility or that of others for granted, the fact is if you waited until you could 'afford' to have children you may find yourself unable to have children due to having waited too long.
Not only that the parents in question had job previously, their oldest son is serving his country, I think that they have already encouraged one of their offspring to go into work, so whats to say the other 11 won't.
People seem to be looking at such a think in a very negative way, only picking out the 'bad' points the bits they want to see, there isn't just negative parts to the whole thing, there are positives too, although these are brushed over and barely mentioned.
I don't see how your opinion on how to influence a child to go to work counts for anything more that anyone elses. To encourage a child doesn't just mean doing that thing yourself, some parents are unable to work, yet their children go to work when they are old enough to do so.
Everyone has a different opinion, I believe that a lot of people are being too harsh towards this family.
Of course I don't believe that the majority of you view it in that way, after all if someone has a certain opinion I'm sure they aren't going to say that it is harsh in anyway. -

Still you have to think, there is less gun related crime in the UK in comparison than there is in the USA. Even when taking into account population size. If such weapons are less readiely to hand then they are less likely to be used.
