  jehovah's witness: investigations into australian activities - jehovah's witnesses - 7 beresford road, strathfield - taking over by the military.

  strathfield was the head quarters in australia back then.. while i was a jw, there were losts of legends about the war years and the witnesses.. so it may be of interest to some to see some of these files i have been posting.. parts of the stories can be found in some of the wt litriture.. of course some are more interesting than others.. http://www.sendspace.com/file/y98rqt.

  does anybody know of any words, which are spelt and pronounced the same, which are used in other languages but which mean completely different things?

  as an example (which doesn't work i know) love in english means affection, but love in say, spanish, means hate?

  dumb example i know, but do you catch my drift?

  "buttocks," 1920, Amer.Eng., from earlier British meaning "vulva" (1879), perhaps from the name of John Cleland's heroine in the scandalous novel "Fanny Hill or Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure" (1748). The fem. proper name is a dim. of Frances.

  The genital sense is still the primary one outside U.S., but is not current in Amer.Eng., which can have consequences when U.S. TV programs and movies air in Britain.

  i just read the first article in the july 15 study edition, entitled "the house-to-house ministry--why important now?

  " i thought it was insane overall but i noticed that they seem to be reintroducing the "marking work.

  " hadn't that belief been eliminated?.

  Interested in seeing random papers, forms, and letters from Bethel?

  while sorting through old papers and files in my closet getting ready for a move, i came across a bunch of papers and forms from bethel.

  a lot of them are outlines and directions for the first few days and weeks while at bethel.

  in addition, there are some typed notes from the 2002 annual meeting (the kind you're not supposed to post in the interwebz), a few letters from the gb to bethelites (mostly telling us how to dress and so forth), and some other random junk.
