When I was a teenager we had a county in Virginia as unassigned territory. It was in the mountains and there were many little roads that went to homes back in the woods.

I called on this house back in the woods and a lady was sweeping the yard and I talked for a little while and she said, "You shouldn't tarry long, my husband doesn't like me talking to strangers."

My brother was with another group and they went down this long dirt road and some men walked out of the woods with shot guns and asked what they were doing down there. They evidently were making whiskey and didn't want to be caught. My brothers car group turned around and went back out.

We had a lot of fun back in those days, especially when we ate out in the woods.

A couple that I got in the JW fold came by and we talked for a while, never mentioning the borg. until they got up to leave and they gave me an invitation. They are a good couple that me and my first wife, a jw, studied with 45 years ago. My first wife left me because she was tired of being controlled by the borg. I didn't know this was the reason untill about a year ago when I found her telephone number on the internet and called her, the first time in over thirty years. She didn't know I was feeling the same way back then.

i was reading a thread on here the other day, and it occured to me.

the very thing i have claimed in the title.. reading you all bickering over a certain subject.

i assumed that some of you are only here to genuinely to create arguments, and i saw that some are genuinely lost and some of you dont believe they are lost but they are.. i saw you judging your fellow posters as if you knew something, but truth be told none of us do.

As for what people post here it doesn't bother me no matter what they say. I kind of like to see the variety of personalities of humans.

I agree on the fact that I don't know anything about the why of life. The one thing I know about life is we didn't have anything to do with the fact that we personally are here. Some sperm got together with an egg in a woman and we came out alive. Where life originated no one knows. We only have a few writtings by some human who claim they were told by some spirit God. Others claim they get some spirit in their brain that gives them some special connection with a God.

Some people have some special knowledge of machanics or we wouldn't have the inventions that I'm using to write this now, but they can't explain the universe.

The earth and life is a complete mystery to me. I ride out in the country here in NC and Va and see how beautiful it all is and realize I don't know anything about how it all got here. I know I will die soon, since I'm 75, but know nothing about any afterlife.

I agree, I know nothing for sure except I will die like everything else on earth does.

About the Adam and Eve time gap....

what's got me a bit befuddled is this.... when eve was created she was physically perfect right?

and apparently god blessed them which counted as a marriage.

so....that means that satan's deception of eve must have been almost immediate?....because being perfect she would have conceived virtually straight away, surely?

Thanks for the comments. I knew there was no provable answer or it would be all over the world. What I do for some peace is drive out in the country and observe the beauty of nature. There are so many country roads where there is hardly any traffic and the scenery is beautiful, you can see miles to the mountains and hills. There are many old houses from the 1700-1800s that are falling down and tobacco barns. I suspect most of the people made their living raising tobacco back in the old days. My friend next door who is about my age rides with me.

I'm 75 years old and am confused about life and God. All explainations seem made up by some religious person or some written book that doesn't make any sense to me. Why doesn't a God just let us know that he exist in some way that all people could understand. Human minds can't grasp the concept of something or someone not having a beginning. Everything we see on earth dies. Life is so complex and the only real common thing is reproduction. Everything spends it's life reproducing more of it's kind and if it didn't it would all go away in a hundred or so years, except trees.

If there is no life after death we don't have much to look forward to except death. I can see why a savior was invented by humans who was to come back soon to save mankind. God sure made a mess of his creation with wars, floods and a final Armageddon. I guess he has fun creating stars and universes etc. since he is still doing it.

my wife and i went to the store and when we got back i took the stuff in to the house and put it on the table.

i waited a few minutes and wondered why she hadn't come in yet.

i went out the front door and she was laying in the yard, she had passed out and couldn't get up.

Thanks for the advice. She is OK now. She had passed out once before while at her daughters. We had our physical after this a few weeks ago and they didn't find anything wrong. She has a lot of stress lately with her kids marriages going bad. I hope she will get some rest and feel better.

My wife and I went to the store and when we got back I took the stuff in to the house and put it on the table. I waited a few minutes and wondered why she hadn't come in yet. I went out the front door and she was laying in the yard, she had passed out and couldn't get up. I got her up and in the house and she just wanted to finish supper for the family. She wouldn't lie down or rest, just wanted to finish her cooking. Don't know what happened, she has been under a lot of stress lately and maybe that had something to do with it. She had taken her blood pressure medicine and a Zanax before she went to town. I hope she is OK. Scares me.
