  I am officially divorced

  yesterday was the day - that my marriage of over 10 1/2 years to my jw wife was dissolved....finally.... - i am in a terrific mood today!

  my wife and i have joint physical and legal custody of the kids which is awesome!

  she doesn't make them go to meetings or go out in service and she has to allow all extra carricular activities.

  i hope someone opens a new secret watchtower website with all the pages scanned monthly.

  wouldn't that be a hoot?

  i forget nowadays - when should the dubs expect that january shipment?

  Is the Bible really from God.....

  or just from everyday people like you and me and christians just held on to it because it gave them something to hope for and put faith in?.

  if it really is from god, why are things still so mysterious, i.e.

  why are we still in the dark about the future?

  I'm glad to see I'm not the only one was these doubts. I've been seriously investigating things on the internet about the bible. From the myth of the flood and how it was adopted by the hebrews many years later and more....I believe there are many sacred books out there..But as far as I can see there isn't one that has "divine" inspiration...I think the bible is a good book to read..It does have history and alot of good advice...Now unly fundamentalist believe the bible to be infallible truth. But many christians have a more balanced view....You don't have to give up your belief in God just because you don't believe the bible to be absolute truth...

  well, i finally put up the site.

  the articles are nothing new - bits from wikipedia etc.

  but i hope it will persuade even one 'interested' one to avoid the jw's - and even get an existing member to think.

  My mind won't shut off !

  it is after 3am and i am sitting here on my own not being able to sleep.

  this seems to happen to me quite often lately and my head is like a washing machine - going round and round.

  i am going to see the doctor tomorrow and tell him how i am feeling.

  Maddie, I'm not a doctor, mind you...but from the things you write and my own experience I'd say you're suffering from depression...Racing thoughts, insomnia, feelings of hopelessness for the future....Talk to your doctor very openly because it might be good to take some medication for a while. It's not miracle cure or anything.. But if you aren't sleeping as you should and not eating correctly, etc...your brain isn't going to function properly as well....you need to be able to make wise desicions right now and prepare yourself with the tools you'll need to overcome the things happening to you right now.....depression shuts you down, it doesn't allow you to function as you should....Whatever you decide to do I can tell you that things will get better. There are many here who have overcome some really hard experiences...I admire their strength tremendously and I'm sure you will also be able to also see the light at the end of the tunnel.....

  QFR: New light on Annointed? No more Holy Spirit than the rest of us?

  question for all of those in the know:.

  i've been getting snipits of info on some threads concerning some possible "new light" that was supposedly in a recent questions from readers.

  from what i could briefly gather, it states that the annointed don't have any more "holy spirit" inside them than do the great crowd.

  As far as I know, the anointed never had any special insights...some people in the organization thought this, but I never read anything about their special powers. The only difference was their hope.

  Cloth Diapers

  so .. my husband and i are going to start trying for kids next year.

  we had a long discussion last night about disposable diapers vs. cloth diapers.

  i know this decision can wait but i just like talking about my expectations early rather than end up with conflict later on.. i want to use cloth diapers and he thinks disposables are the way to go.

  I have three children and used disposable for all...I saw my sister and her experience with the cloth. It just looked like alot of work for a minimum benefit. Plus I did notice alot of rashes. With her second child she went disposable. I think it depends on you and your time..Maybe with your first child it will be easier...depends also if you get an easygoing baby or one that is demanding...

  What was your first car?

  mine was an old fiat 127, i bought it 1983 and it was at least fifteen years old then!

  the seats were vinyl and there were no rear seatbelts so i could send my girlfriend and her sister flying with each bend in the road!

  it wouldn't go above 55mph and was rattling like rollercoaster when it finally got there.. the rear window fell out and it finally croaked in puff of blue/black smoke.
