many here may recall that the watchtower society has published much material on the prophetic role of the united nations ... specifically, the united nations is the scarlet colored wild beast, the "image" of the worldly 7 headed wild political beast ... it would be given life by the two-horned dual world power of britain and america, the "lamb-like beast spoken of in revelation ... this "image" beast would be given power to rule one prophetic hour over the nations as they subordinate their national sovereignty to it ... and so on ...
then ... after the creation of the united nations in 1945 in san francisco the wts interpreted revelation regarding the demise of the old league of nations to apply to a statement in revelation that this "image" beast would be revived in the form of the united nations ... seemingly, the wts was on to something ... and for the next 45 years (until about 1990) the watchtower published anything and everything they could to make their interpretation stick with respect to how deep in the time of the end they believed we were living in ... then, about 1990, the watchtower society joined the un as a member ngo ... a significant departure from their previous stand on political neutrality ... and ... hatred of satan's old system of things ... certainly, since we are nearly 90 years into the last days of this wicked system we would expect the un to be in control or at least taking the lead ...
so, now ... where do we stand as of march 19th, 2003?

You know some of you people are so quick to judge and make fun that you miss the big picture. Did it ever occur to any of you that Hurt just may be on to something?
Hurt IMHO I think you have brilliantly analyzed the current situation with the UN but some of these fools who post here have no appreciation for theocratic principles so they just refuse to see it.
If I understand this correctly, what we are now seeing before our very eyes is an atypical fulfillment of the antitypical King of the North’s struggle with the modern symbolic fulfillment of the symbol representing the Wild Beast.
You folks can laugh and make fun all you want, only Jehovah’s Faithful Slave can truly understand it all. But I wrn you all, just as in the days of Noah, no one took notice until it was too late. So just keep watching the news because the end is very near, you just wait and see.

for those of you interested in why your rational arguments and reasoning, in addition to well documented information do little to sway the beliefs of true believers (family, friends, and loved ones), the reason as offered in the following article is survival.. http://www.csicop.org/si/2000-11/beliefs.html.
offered humbly for your perusal,.

Great article! I can totally identify with this phenomenon. Sometime I want to take my wife’s head and twist it off because she will defend the Tower no matter what direct evidence is presented that they have done and are doing horrible things. It doesn’t matter how strong or well documented the evidence is, the Tower is always defended. It’s just so totally illogical to just blindly believe, but she does. And it’s so very hard for me to accept this. Sometimes I wish I could have the necessary areas of my brain removed so I could believe along with her again. God I hate this cult!

District Overbeer that is wonderful news indeed! By all means if you get the chance to get into Intelligence go with that. On the civilian side this field is wide open and growing, and a security clearance above Top Secret is worth big bucks to certain employers doing critical work securing our nation.
In my previous work, I dabbled on the fringes of the intelligence field but I have never have been an agent or even officially worked for an intelligence agency. But I will tell you some of what I have done so you know just what is possible.
During my career I monitored the activates of people that turned out to be KGB operatives, and I stopped the bad guys from attacking government systems electronically. I helped secure the Witness Protection program. I helped secure programs related to the DEA. I helped secure the Hubble Space Telescope. I authored the day-to-day security manual currently in use at the ATF which keep agents in the field and working undercover safe. I have lectured at the National Security Agency and got to meet the director himself. I pissed him off by referring to his guys as spooks. The former Attorney General of the United States also knows who I am because I managed the Tiger Teams that hacked their massive classified data center, and I understand I really pissed her off too. I’ve had the FBI’s head of covert operations in my living room drinking coffee and offering me a job. I’m not sure but I think I may have pissed him off too because I said no to a lot of money. LOL Now that I think about it, I pissed off a lot of people in high places.
I don’t consider myself particularly bright, (note the above tendency to piss powerful people off), and I didn’t start out with outstanding academic credentials, I just had a particular talent at breaking into computers for fun, and I channeled that in a legitimate direction. I got lucky and someone gave me a chance and it went on from there. You on the other hand are being given a chance to lay a solid foundation, something I never had and something that does not depend on luck. As far as I went in my previous field, I envy you because you have the potential to go much further . And who knows, maybe one day you will even be able to piss the President off. LOL
Congratulations and the best of luck to you!
PS: If they offer you an assignment at a place called Fort Mead, take it! That is the NSA and it is considered the jewel of the intelligence community. The work done there is saving thousands and thousands of lives in ways you can’t even imagine.

I know of two boys in the same family that were kicked out by their asshole elder father, one was 17 and the other was 19 or 20. One boy was told to leave because he went “worldly”, the other was told to go not long after he was DFed. The older of the two brothers is now a heroine addict, and the younger brother is trying to keep him alive and sober. Their family has cut them off entirely. The loving asshole elder his father who was always too busy with out of state “quick-builds” to properly take care of his kids has been removed as an elder, now he is just an ordinary asshole.
I wonder if this sort of thing happens in other cults too?

Holly crap I hit the post button, my browser got updated, and there is a bunch of posts and mine is at the bottom. I guess everyone in the world knew what you were referring to. J
IMHO the answer is yes, and the cost is much more then just the money as you well know. But you better explain it to everyone else because they are scratching their heads wondering what the hell you are talking about.

Rem,
It’s nice to see someone that understands the process. As I am sure Rem will attest, the process it very fair and it does not matter if you have friends in high places, that won’t help you.
Depending on how the RFP is written, there is a matrix of qualifying criteria that your company must pass, not the least of which is your capability of doing this type of job based on past performance. In the case of Halliburton, their ability to do the job on time and within budget makes them a front-runner based on past performance alone. And if they put in a realistic bid, as I’m sure they did, they could expect to have a very good chance of wining without even necessarily being the very lowest bidder in the bunch. It’s not necessarily the lowest bidder, but generally the best qualified that wins.
Want to talk about fair? It would not surprise me to learn that Halliburton subcontracts out some of the work to the loosing bidders. It happened to my company, we lost fair and square, but then the winner split the work with us.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people let their emotions and extreme political prejudices override their intellect. I don’t know why this surprises me, but it still does. If you would seriously like to understand how the competitive process works with multimillion-dollar government contracts, just ask. I’ve been directly involved with several over the years.

So what we are saying is that through the process of competitive bidding, one of the best oil services corporations in the world with an outstanding track record of success was selected to handle this gargantuan task. And then on top of that, this stellar performing company subcontracted the firefighting task to one of the best at what they do. This is absolutely scandalous!
