Hey, these prefaces allowed me to ace my kiddie lit class! I disagreed with about 90% of what the prof taught, but used these prefaces to feed back what he wanted to hear. It, also, is great at b/s and w study when you feel like answering (just to keep the meeting moving) without giving your own opinion.

"secondary worship", obeisance, Jesus
by NanaR infriends:.
i have a question for the researchers here.
i tried to do a search, but the word "worship" brings up way too many posts to filter through.. i remember as a young jw being told that jws render "secondary worship" to jesus christ.

I don't remember anything about secondary worship, but I do remember being quite confused between obeisance and worship. I could never remember which Jesus was 'allowed' to have. Very similar to spirit-led versus inspired for the GB?

However, despite the fact that only 37% stayed Witnesses, overall there is an 1% increase between those who said they were Witnesses as a youth, and those who now say they are Witnesses. Does the 1% increase match the statistic WTBS gave? If so, it's showing a lot of 'new' people.
Interesting side note: 1% increase between raised and current for Witnesses, 1% DEcrease between raised and current for Mormons.
here's another cut and paste URL with report summary and graph

TOP THIS for a speeding ticket...
by zeroday intwo california highway patrol officers were conducting speeding enforcement on i-15 north of the marines air station miramar.
one of the officers was using a hand held radar device to check speeding vehicles approaching near the crest of a hill.. the officers were suddenly suprised when the radar gun began reading 300 miles per hour.
the officer attempted to reset the radar gun, but it would not reset and turned off.. just then a deafening roar over the treetops revealed that the radar had in fact locked onto a usmc f/a-18 hornet which was engaged in a low flying exercise near the location.. back at the chp headquarters the patrol captain fired off a complaint to the usmc base commander.. back came a reply in true usmc style: thank you for the message, which allows us to complete the file on this incident.

No one has brought up "Theocratic Warfare" where it is OK to lie for theocratic reasons. I'd apply this here, and tell her you'd respect her wishes in order that you would become her emergency contact. If it's alright for the goose, it should be alright for the gander!

For what it's worth, the KJV equivalent of this verse has "...or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days"

Low 80s and it's SUPPOSE to be winter. I wish the housing market was better so we could sell and move back north. Yes, winters get long but I say I can always add more clothes, there's a limit to how much I can legally take off when it gets warm. And when it's 80s and 90s buck naked would still be HOT! (Moved to the south for family reasons, those reasons no longer are valid.)

Had pretty well faded, but was looking to find out what book was released at the last convention. Searching for it brought me here, where I learned much more than I was looking for.
