I just saw earlier today that you had posted! (I was looking over Think41Self's shoulder).

It is good to see you here! We'll have to get into some heavy philosophical "stuff" now. Maybe Dedalus and some others will join in. (Haven't seen Radar or Axel here).

I feel very bad for this woman, regardless of poor judgment on her part. She was trying to help another person, and didn't prejudge him, even though he was a murderer.

What gets me is the insensitivity of some of the posts above. The fact is that the murderer was at fault. Yes, we must exercise caution; Yes, it was not a good idea for her to invite him in without anyone else present (or PERIOD for that matter).

But this situation is the same in principle as a woman who is raped because she was wearing a short dress. The rapist--NOT THE WOMAN--is at fault.

JW's are human beings first and foremost (at least most of them). Even though they can be cruel and unkind, they do not deserve to be killed. They are just as entitled to believe as they wish as we are. We don't have to agree, but nevertheless, they are still entitled.

And that is (or should be) the difference between them and us. They judge us as evil, and the rest of the world as bad. We must not reciprocate; otherwise, we are just like them.

I do not wish to be like them. I suspect you don't either.

Only when enough individuals begin to show deep respect and high regard for the human condition--regardless of beliefs--will humanity step up to a higher plane of existence.

Why Its Good To Be A Man!

your last name stays put.. the garage is all yours.. wedding plans take care of themselves.. chocolate is just another snack.. you can be president.. you can wear a white t-shirt to a water park.. car mechanics tell you the truth.. you don't give a rat's ass if someone notices your new haircut.. the world is your urinal.. you never have to drive to another gas station because this one's just.

too "yucky".. same work... more pay.. wrinkles add character.. wedding dress $5000; tux rental $100.. people never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.. the occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected.. new shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.. your pals can be trusted never to trap you with: "so, notice anything.

one mood, all the time.. phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.. you know stuff about tanks.. a five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.. you can open all your own jars.. dry cleaners and hair stylists don't rob you blind.. you can leave the motel bed unmade.. you can kill your own food.. you get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.. if someone forgets to invite you to something, he or she can still be.

Hey Comf: Just to reassure you, Tracy doesn't ever refer to men as "schmucks," and she is a total NON-member of the "Men-Haters Club of America."

Tracy is the most positive, cheerful, upbeat, intelligent, sophisticated person I've ever met. She has real class. It amazes me how people are so attracted to her beautiful smile, and kind spirit.

And BTW, "Chocolate" takes second place to me any day! Just ask her!

(some of us still occasionally post there, including--bless his heart--kent.).

according to one poster, there seems to be something reallllly steaming at bethel since 1997 (assuming the guy knows what he's alluding).

Hey Ros,

On December 26, 1998, I attended a 1 day seminar put on by the WTS for those involved in the financial world. It was in Orlando, Florida. I was a stockbroker at the time.

The WTS has a number of "plans" to get money from the Dubs. One is what is known as a CRT: Charitable Remainder Trust. They involve life insurance policies, including Annuities, as Amazing mentioned above.

This seminar was for elders only, and preferably those in banking or finance. I still have the binder they gave me. I must admit I'm a little rusty on the nomenclature though.

Any rate, one plan they had, paid the donor around 7 1/2 % per year, which was frankly better than generally attainable at the time (and still is). The WTS said that the money WOULD NOT be used until the donor passed away (or passed on, depending on your belief).

It was quite obvious to me that the WTS was investing considerably in the market. I don't really know if I blame them. Wise investments are… well… wise.

The thing that makes me uneasy is that they really do not publicize it to the R & F.

I would like to know what a "Real Elder" is doing on this board. If he were a real elder, he wouldn't be on this board.

I can only hope that "RealElder" is a "Real Man" and on his way out, just the way so many us Real Elders did.

Just a word to the wise RealElder: Please be careful of bible thumping bullshit. Many, if not most of us, discarded the Bible, religion, and the "God-Concept" because they are all contrary to provable reality.

Since all of us have been hurt so deeply by the bORG, our bullshit meters are extremely sensitive. Don't try to get away with much. If you do, there are many here who will "burn you at the stake."

If you are on your way out of the bORG, then welcome. And if not, then what in the hell is taking you so long?

Many good people suffer terribly at the hand of circumstance. Some face intense financial problems; some are deeply hurt from the repeated "bombs" of an abusive or alcoholic mate; some look death square in the eye because of a life-threatening illness or old age. At one time or another, everyone faces difficult circumstances, which can drain them of their power. If these circumstances go on too long, it can drain them dry.

What about you? Is your power draining due to some difficult circumstance? When you are at your lowest ebb, something (like the quote above) can ignite a spark, be it ever so small. But at least it's a spark, which can lead to a fire. And when you believe that all hope is lost, and you haven't the emotional strength to do anything, let alone carry on, ask yourself, "Dare I Believe?" Well… do you? Do you dare believe that something inside of you is superior to circumstance?

When your gut is in knots with agonizing pain, please don’t let your circumstances beat you! Recognize that you, as a human being, are far greater than your circumstances! Dare to believe that within you resides Greatness just waiting to be released upon the world!

If, one-by-one, you learn the lessons of your pain, then step-by-step, you will gain mastery over your circumstances. Once you do, use those priceless life-lessons learned to help others in their plight.

Then you will truly do something splendid; something befitting Greatness. But only if you dare believe that something inside of you—yes, something beautiful—is superior to circumstance.

So, will you? Will you dare to believe in yourself?

Most of us carry baggage from our childhood—some light, others heavy. Those who suffered much during childhood run the risk of continued suffering throughout adulthood, if the lessons of childhood suffering are not learned.

The beautiful thing about adulthood is that we now have full control over our lives. But more than that, we must take full control over our lives. This implies action on our part. What a tragedy it is when we as adults continue to cheat ourselves with self-limiting mindsets.

We as adults must take control, muster the courage and grow within. We must continually feed our minds on things of higher value, such as personal growth topics. Then we must always analyze how new perspectives come to bear on our lives. When we take personal responsibility for where we are at in life, we begin to change for the better; we start to learn the lessons of our adversity, and once learned, our lives improve.

Don't allow life to discourage you too much. You may not like the world you grew up in, but that's okay because it's now the past. Now it is time to look to the future by taking responsibility for where you are. When you take responsibility, you begin changing your life. When you change your life, you change your world. When you change your world, you are in control, and you alone decide how happy you will be. So go ahead; change your world.

I don't usually reply to futile posts such as yours, but I am making an exception for you.

You are interested in the "truth?" Join the club. Here is the only "truth" that exists on the planet: "We don't know, and may likely never know "the truth." The data is simply not available."

However, there is one BIG step you can take towards finding "truth": Shitcan the Bible--it is one of the greatest sources of "untruth" in existence.

TO THE REST OF THE GROUP:
Good job of keeping Jason on his toes! He has been "chasing the ball" no matter where it goes. He has posted more than anyone else. As you all know, many times, new ones come on to the board with a whirlwind until they begin to "get it." Hopefully, Jason will start to "get it" soon.

Two years ago, I divorced my wife, (who was an alcoholic). Close to the same time, Think41Self and I decided to marry, and for that, we were both disfellowshipped (couldn't prove scriptural freedom, but who cares now?).

Between the two of us, we have 3 teenage boys, Tracy has 2, and I have one (adds up to three, Fred). I know the boys have suffered as a result of our disfellowshipping, primarily from J'Dub grandparents. Since I am closest with my son, I can really speak for him.

He is almost 15, and cried to me the other evening because he misses his grandparents (his mom's side) who he was very close to growing up. They live 2000 miles away, and he is VERY worried that they will reject him if he tells them that he has decided to have nothing to do with JW's. This has caused him serious anguish and heartache.

I have been very careful to be fair about JW's, and tell him that I will love him regardless of the path he takes, that is, whether he wants to be a Witness or not. Fortunately, he does not. He is very upset with the WTS for the way they (mis)handled my situation.

It is hard to sit there while your son cries his heart out because, as the WTS Public Relations website says, "Disfellowshipping DOES NOT sever family ties." Bullshit. It even affects children.

With every tear that falls from his face, my disgust with the WTS grows; so does my determination to educate the population at large about "Dub-dom (or is it "Dub-dumb"?).

HEY BOYS IN BROOKLYN! LISTEN UP! You have no idea what you are doing!!! You are destroying families, relationships, friendships! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO SO! YOU ARE MORALLY CORRUPT!

ARE YOU LISTENING BROOKLYN BOYS? I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU, YOUR DYSFUNCTIONAL CULT (what cult isn't?), AND YOUR MORALLY REPREHENSIBLE GOD!

If Armageddon does come, you will find me performing my one last act of defiance: Flipping God off and saying, "Fuck You!"
