Howdy MultiF and welcome.
There are many stories of others who have made an exit from the book publishing company on this site. The egress is available to all.
Borg is a play on words. Organization = Borganization referencing the wtbs as equal to the Borg from Star Trek. "You will be assimilated"

I'm trying to get the synapses firing, but the nyquil is preventing it from happening.
There was another thread, posted not to long ago, IIRC, in which Zappa was jamming with another very well known guitar player. Zappa literally dusted the floor with the other guy, which I totally did not expect. I really enjoyed watching that thread, but I can't for the life of me remember who it was with Zappa. For some reason Satriani (sp?) comes to mind, but as my dad always said, "Don't get me to lyin'"

You could pick up a really nice 3 br brick home in Okc for less than $200k. I just did a reverse mortgage for a couple that lives about 45 minutes outside of Okc on Saturday. They put their house, large barn and 5 acres up for the loan and it was right at $200k. In the midst of out conversation they told me that the wife still has 33 acres of improved land (gas, water and electric) available to sell at $2k an acre.
In 2003 we bought a 1800 sq ft 3 br home (not a very large yard) in a suburb of Denver for $240k. In talking to friends from the old neighborhood we were told that the street we lived on is foreclosure central. Sad.

Surely the WT wouldn't LIE about motel/hotel accommodations?!?
by RisingEagle ini was eating lunch with 3/4 of my active jw family earlier today and they were bemoaning the idea that they were going to have to leave the central oklahoma area very early tomorrow morning to find a room so they could attend an assembly on the otherside of the state.
they had tried calling the 'approved' hotels and motels in the town where the assembly is being held and they were all booked.
so that left them looking at the rest of the approved list and having to travel as much as 50 miles away to get a room.

I just spoke to a family member on the phone, they are resting comfortably at one of the motels I found. I tried to work in the question if anybody had bugged them about using a non-approved motel, but they wouldn't take the bait. I guess the day-long indoctrination is keeping them toeing the jw line.
Perhaps when they get back from the assembly I can push the topic by asking them if they enjoyed their stay and aren't they glad I found them accommodations that didn't cause them a possible 50 mile drive. It should be interesting.

Flag on my car
by freedomfighter intoday 26th jan is australia day.
this has been my first "holiday" that i have celebrated.
strapped an aussie flag to the aerial of my car, drove proudly.

That's really great, enjoy the holiday. I always wondered how the book publishing company ignored the scriptures about being a citizen at Titus 3:1 and Romans 13:1.
Have a g'day!

Hillbilly Once upon a time the WT practically owned all the large assembly halls in the central okc area almost anytime they wanted them. The Myriad now Cox center, Civic Center, Okc fairgrounds buildings, Lloyd Noble and even ECU in Ada all but tripped over themselves trying to get the witlings to book there. As I understand it each of those places now want the witnoids to use their security, food services and parking attendants if they want to use the facilities, which means extra expenses. I guess it's just easier to get the slaves to the watchtower to drive halfway to Arkansas to stay cheap.
I'm actually driving by your neck o' the woods tomorrow to go to Perkins and then on to Prague to complete some loan paperwork. I'll wave as I go by Guthrie, next time I'm in the area I'll pm you and we can meet up.
