Precisely when in 1914 did the GT end???
by JCole ini have been asking this question since studying the babylon the great book back in the '60s.
maybe i'm thickskulled, but simply restating that it ended in october or tishri doesn't explain away my reasons for asking the question.
i'm only looking for answers about the date in 1914, and i'm not looking for the typical apostate replies that the year is wrong.. i question october/tishri being the end of the gentile times, and thus the start of jesus' reign, for the following reasons:.

JCole: The elders have absolutely nothing to do with the chronology hat the Society uses in its explanation of prophecies. They cannot tell you a single thing beyond what has been printed in the publications. As a matter of fact, they are instructed BY THE SOCIETY to do nothing BUT direct you to the publications for answers. In short, they can't help you. The Society must be the one to address your questions. If they do not, then I suggest you present them to your C.O. at his very next visit.

That was lovely, Seven. It's interesting how death and love play against each other in prose and poetry. Edgar Allan Poe said that there were only two things worth writing about, Love and Death. They are the two most powerful forces in our literature and I find myself continually drawn to them. They are the two extremes, I believe.
Here's something I wrote, tell me what you think. To Live Again
It was end of day and not quite night
I sat brooding, alone, my thoughts and me
In quiet anticipation, the blooms of night
Bided their time for their releaseThere I mused over things distant and past
Of a life nearly spent and yet hollow still
An arduous journey down an nameless path
To where ill winds blow cold and shrillAh, but if only I could return to my youth
And once again take that path of life
The changes I would make, things I would do
With only a gentle voice to be my guideSweet surprise and pray not to know
Things that must come, things that must be
But besides me a sage wise and old
To steer me from errors once made you seeAnd then and there in my quiet revelry
With the sweet scent of jasmine on the night's breath
There came to me this serene epiphany
And my thoughts turned to life instead of deathWith great exuberance and total surprise
Besides myself for having been unable to see
I had been granted that wish for which I cried
As I thought of my children, my children and me!With naiveté and sweet innocence at hand
They embark the great and wondrous journey
With them all is fresh and new and grand
This marvelous life just found, sweet and freeI live again and leap and play and skip about
As I see them find things I have long forgot
And in their presence gone are the fears and doubt
I have found the eternal life I once sought -

It would appear that we might have some contradiction here.
***si p. 286 par 13 ***
"Following Adam's creation, and still within the sixth creative day, Jehovah appears to have been forming further animal and bird creations"*** gm Chapter 7 Page 84 par 18 -Does the Bible Contradict Itself? ***(God’s Word 1989)
"We learn that after his creation Adam was to live in a garden in Eden. So the planting of the garden of Eden is now mentioned. (Genesis 2:8, 9, 15) Jehovah tells Adam to name “every wild beast of the field and every flying creature of the heavens.” Now, then, is the time to mention that “Jehovah God was forming from the ground” all these creatures, although their creation began long before Adam appeared on the scene.—Genesis 2:19; 1:20, 24, 26."*** it-1 771 Eve ***
"The first woman and the last reported of God’s earthly creative works."So which is it? Did God continue to create after Eve or not?
Any ideas?

JW and XJW DB's , Bible Conscience and Truth.
by spectromize ini would just like to point out that when i first bought my computer and connected to the internet, the first words i typed in my browser were jehovah, jehovah's witnesses, watchtower.... i must say, i was quite amazed to see so many websites that were for and against us.
my curiosity got the better of me and started reading sites such as watchtower.org ,witnesses.net,watchtower observer, h20, freeminds...ect.. did it bother me to read opposing materials or websites?
as i mentioned in another thread i have spent many years training myself a conscience trained to what the bible and the society's publication have encouraged us to do.. again coming back to the question, did it bother me reading all this opposing stuff?

The TRUTH is never challenged by examination but rather is exonerated by it. Only the lie need fear close scrutiny.

Blood Fraction
by claudia inok i need help here, i want to know how i can justify taking blood fractions, from stored and collected blood?
how do i answer my relatives, the people who are the most wonderful people in the world even though they are roman catholic, they are not trying to persecute me, they love me, so i dont even want to go the persecution route.also where is the biblical support for fractions.
i feel it is selfish to take from bloodbanks, but not give in return, and on top of that hear badmouthing of bloodbanks.

Claudia, there is NO Biblical support for taking blood fractions anymore than there is explicit Biblical prohibition against blood transfusions. It's all in the interpretation.
There is only ONE scripture in the Greek Scriptures that makes any mention of this and I'm sure you have read it. -Acts 15:20 Several questions come to mind immediately. One is: Can I touch blood? (Interestingly the English word 'abstain' is from French derivation and basically means 'not to hold' or 'keep from holding') Next question: Would abstinence from blood prevent me, say from using it as a fish bait? Would it prevent me from slaughtering animals since I would literally be spilling blood? What do I do with clothes that have blood on them? Do I bury the clothes? Can I swallow my own blood in the case of a mouth injury? What about a bleeding ulcer?
So, what does the scripture mean? Most of the early Christians (certainly all of the apostles) were Jews so how would they take it? In all probablility (and that's all we have here is probability) they would take it to mean that blood was not to be eaten. So the question for us is: Is a transfusion the same as eating blood? No, it's not because transfused blood is not treated as a nutrient by the recipient's own circulatory system. It's not converted to food and used to nourish the cells. It's used in the same manner as the recipient's own blood. Thus a transfusion is nothing more than a transplant. There is no Scriptural basis for denying a transplant although the Society twisted some around for a while and made us believe there was. Now they say it's okay.
Why is it wrong to accept your own, stored blood? It's your blood. Where does it say in Scripture that once it leaves your body that it's no longer yours? Why is it okay to take your own blood out of your body (kidney dialysis) and put it back in just because the blood doesn't stop moving? Could we then put it in a plastic bag and agitate the bag until it's time for us to use it? Like that it would never stop moving. How silly it all seems when you stop to really think about it.
There's lots more but I don't want to clutter up the board. E-mail me if you would like to discuss it some more or we can do it here.
