a letter has been prepared by anonymous brothers to be sent to bodies of elders around the world.. of course this is a massive undertaking and we are asking for assistance from active and inactive ones around the world who share the sentiments of the letters contents.. your participation in this action indicates your sincere desire to see change within the organization that has become authoritarian in recent years.. we ask that the letter be addressed to "the body of elders" in each respective congregation.. please do not add any further information or commentary.. we are also relying on non-english speaking brothers to translate and distribute this letter.. it will not matter if more than one letter is received by each congregation.

a couple of jw friends came yo visit us today and we had dinner together.. at some stage in the conversation, i said that i do understand that an increasing number of jws from developing countries take emblems at memorials because, if we consider that europe and the us compose, together, about 700 million people, there is no good reason why nearly the whole lot of the little flock should be chosen from one tenth of humankind.
it is therefore all too normal that jws from third world counties think that they should have their fair share since jehovah id not partial.

christ...comma implicates the word "AND"
firstfruits...the word is plural and implies a gathering (the 144,000)
then, WHEN HE COMES...there will be others (the Great Crowd who have been under the "tent of protection" through the great tribulation")

It's just that I started feeling guilty myself for making fun of two people who, I think now, obviously cant help themselves.
I wonder sometimes if I have offended these people with what I thought was humor. But they are so serious, so maybe they dont see the humor and are hurt by it. I figure anyone with JW background should be tough-skinned about any real or imagined "persecution". But I don't know.

Obves is a product of his environment. I think religion can sincerely screw up people's minds. I wish there were an easy way to bring obves back to normal so that he could have a fulfilling life. There are times I have made sport of both Obves and JCanon and today I apologize to both of you.
It really bothers me to see the both of you so bogged down in this dogma and nonsense. I wish a better life for both of you, with some happiness. I hope one day you both can find some joy in something you can accomplish.
At a young age my mother tried to discourage me from making fun of people. She said "There, but for the gace of God, go I." Which means ...that could have been me, or anyone of us. Some of us here are very lucky to have gotton through this life and all this mind-warping with some semblance of sanity still there. I think Obves and Jcanon are less fortunate.

well, i just wanted to share our special day with you guys too , because you folks have become close like family to us !
for mrs. flipper and myself being in our late 40's, early 50's, with all the challenges we had over the years before we met, being with the wrong people who took advantage of our kindness when we were both in other relationships , we truly do feel it is a miracle that her and i finally found each other later in life and found real happiness in a marriage.
i should introduce myself, since this is my first post.
i'm actually not an ex-jw, but rather someone who has just lost his faith in a different church, the mormon church.
i've long suspected that in terms of the organizational aspects of our two churches, how they hook you mentally, how they condition you, how they socialize you and make it very hard to leave, from an abstract level there's really not a dime's worth of difference.

I read your Book of Mormon many years ago.
And way long before I ever read the book, I had a mormon friend when I was in 6th grade.
I went to an "ice cream social" with her.
The one thing that I can say was nice about the religion is the family closeness I saw, and that so many of the functions were centered around including all of the family together.
I think I have been in almost any kind of church there is. Except maybe the Hare Krishnas
But alas, we find the teachings in all of the religions are wrong and the motives are corrupt...not just mormons and Jdubs.
I think there is more heartache and destruction in cult groups than in "christendom" in general. christendom is corrupt, too. You know they are all going to fly out of here and leave the rest of us here to suffer. I think the suffering here has already reached its saturation point. They can go fly anytime!
