  The ZBV can also be operated in stationary mode* by parking the system and producing X-ray images of vehicles as they pass by. Screening can also be accomplished remotely while the system is parked. Remote operation allows scanning to be done safely, even in dangerous environments, while maintaining low-profile operation. The system is unobtrusive, as it maintains the outward appearance of an ordinary van.

  The Z Backscatter Van is used in port and border security, force protection, urban surveillance, and other critical security applications. The system is maneuverable, mobile and affordable. Simply put, the ZBV is faster, more effective, and less expensive than any mobile X-ray screening solution in the marketplace today.

  The ZBV Reveals Contraband and Threats Undetected by Other Systems:

  • Car and truck bombs
  • Explosives, plastic weapons, and other organic threats
  • Radioactive threats, including nuclear devices and dirty bombs
  • Illegal drugs
  • Stowaways, such as illegal immigrants and terrorists
  • Trade fraud items, such as alcohol, tobacco, and other legal goods smuggled to evade duties (can they read your brand of smokes?)

  * In Stationary Scan Mode, ZBV operators may elect to scan the occupants of the subject vehicle. For this application, AS&E offers a Personnel Scanning option that may better enable the customer to meet any applicable country-specific regulatory requirements.

  I wonder how many people know about this.

  Another bogus "security" item. It is for ultimate control.

  They can park this van on your street and count every box or can of food in your pantry.

  They can see how many people are inside your home.

  Of course they can detect weapons in your home, silly.

  The Z-Backscatter vans can scan vehicles while the system itself is moving, scanning an entire row of parked cars in a single pass-through and producing clear images. They can also be operated in stationary mode by parking the system and producing X-ray images of vehicles as they pass by. In high-threat areas, a stationary mode van can even be operated remotely from up to 500 meters/ 0.3 miles away.

  The technology’s abilities include near-photo quality views through clothes when used in airport screening systems, which caused something of a privacy uproar. Questions have also been raised re: the health risks to those scanned, which may well be ignored in situations of war or insurrection, but become a live issue when proposed as an requirement for popular activities like airline travel.

  Jan 2/08: AS&E announces “a multi-million dollar order” for the OmniView™ Gantry system and the Z Backscatter Van™ (ZBV) from its local distributor in Italy, AUS.TECH S.p.A. The systems will be deployed to inspect cargo and vehicles entering a major, high-volume Italian port. The OmniView Gantry combines 6.0 MeV high-energy transmission with 3 Z-Backscatter imaging modules to provide left, right, and top-views.

  Oct 10/07:AS&E announces that the U.S Government has purchased its first Z Portal™ drive-through screening system with three Z Backscatter imaging modules (left, right, and top-view) and Forwardscatter™ technology, and reordered 3 Z-Backscatter™ Vans (ZBV), for inspecting trucks and passenger cars in high-volume traffic areas. The contracts are valued at $3.9 million, and include installation, and operator training.

  With this order, AS&E states that “over 300 ZBVs will be deployed worldwide for force protection, VIP and event security, law enforcement, and port and border security.”

  People are unknowingly being scanned on the highway. These things can also go into neighborhoods and scan your homes.

  i am new here and i have been reading a lot of stuff on this board.

  my parent's are both jws, i am still active and still believe i have the truth.

  i consider myself a moral person.

  Multi, you are very sensitive.

  I bet all of us here used to be...and still are in some ways. But we have all had to toughen up. When you take a stand and you are the odd man out, it toughens you up.

  I don't think you are a troll at all.

  I hope you will stick around. There is a lot to be learned here and I think many people when they finally walk away from this board are better people and smarter people for having spent time here.

  Please don't get offended. People will not always agree with you. Don't take it personally.

  Also, I copied what I posted above. I am not saying directly to you to "get a sense of humor"; that was just the title of the excerpt.

  Get a sense of humor: black humor

  Your job can change your sense of humor - you could cross over to the dark side or laughing at black humor. For instance, one PhD student studied more than 70 emergency-care personnel (paramedics included) and found a change in sense of humor styles. The majority of the subjects went from ethnic and sexual jokes at the beginning of their training to black humor at the end. The more experienced the paramedic, the "sicker" their humor was. (Source: Psychology Today).

  The same is often seen on tv. Coroners or medical examiners who perform autopsies often make jokes about the body, or eat sandwiches while leaning against the table on which the body rests. Humor psychology shows that this is normal in that world.

  Black humor can serve as a defense against scary or heartbreaking situations. Black humor switches your focus from the tragic to the tragically comical, from sad to silly. Seeing the irony or humor in even the bleakest situation can help you master situations and environments. In fact, some emergency personnel believe that coworkers who don't joke around seem more high strung, touchier, and more likely to burn out. Those who don't have a sense of humor don't last.

  some of the other satellite applications, the resolution is amazing! There are satellites that can discern a coin laying on the street!

  isn't that the type of "spy satellite" that is supposed to crash to earth in a couple of weeks?

  How about the backscatter scan van?

  It scans the vehicles going down the road.

  It can also scan inside your home.

  My objection to all this is that a CHURCH organization is trying to dictate it.

  We are going back to middle ages mode when the church made the laws and the politicians enforced them.

  OMG!

  We are all going to have to speak "in code" now.

  I have heard that there will be chips in the new digital TV's that will do the same thing. Even if TV is off it will monitor sound within certain radius. All Tv's will have to be changed over to digital by end of year, I think.

  I have heard similar chip in computer...but I don't know. Why would they need to do that when they can implement the "bloodhound" to monitor every key stroke?

  Another thing folks may not realize....those black cords stretched across the streets.....

  Most people mistakenly think they are "traffic counters". They are NOT. They pick up a signal embedded in your car tag. This signal has all of your basic information...name, address, registration, driving history, etc. If you will notice, when you drive over those cords, you may see cords further down within another few miles, or on a turn off street.

  The purpose of this is to register your rate of speed from point A to point B.

  Devices are to soon be put in place to send automatic tickets. You can argue with a cop. You can't argue with an electronic device. Also, it cuts down on manpower. (police force is hurting very much where I am {due to budget cuts} and more cuts expected as announced this week)

  These devices can also be used at a later date should the gov. need to track your comings and goings and where-abouts.

  A few years ago when I got my new car tag with the magnetic hologram in it, I went to radio shack and used their demagnetizer on it before I attached it to car.

  The next year, instead of sending me a peel off to place on the tag......they sent me a whole new tag again.

  The Memorial

  i saw some mention of this in another post, but i wasn't sure if there was a topic about it.

  being raised in the "truth" its always pointed out that even people who haven't been to meetings in years still come to the memorial.

  ive noticed that a lot of time that is actually the case.
