I understand that the Zone Overseer is scheduled to give a talk in Canada. Many Assembly Halls and being booked to receive the telephone hook-ups. Do you think that he's coming because he found out that some of our youth are attending University, and he's coming to kick our Canadian butts? I know that Australia, Italy got a visit from their Zone overseer. Who else is getting their butts kicked, and what's it all about, Alfie?

I'm being sued for moving out of my apartment
by tsunami_rid3r inif you don't remember my move out 3 months well, long story short, things weren't working out for my roommate and i, and we found someone to take my place.
he signed the papers, and i moved out.
he backed out of the agreement, and so my ex-roommate is left paying all of the rent.

WT-Says Moms Should not Work
by leaving-jws inthe feb 1, 2008 wt has an article on p. 28 called finding fulfillment as a mother.
the article basically states that moms should not work outside of the home but stay at home with their kids to teach them things about jehovah.
it also states that moms that want to work outside the home full-time do so not out of economic necessity but to boost their self worth, to obtain financial independence or to pay for luxuries.

I haven't read that article yet, but will do so tomorrow.
As a family we found that when our children were younger, my wife made the sacrifice in staying home, but she did work part-time. We found that to be better financially since the day-care expenses would eat up a lot of that extra income, along with the extra taxes that you get to pay. After the children got older, then my wife took on a full time job. I guess they wanted her to pioneer, but there were wives that didn't work that didn't pioneer as well.
As for women making less than men...not in our case. I hate to admit it, but my wife brings in more income than I do. What am I doing still working, oh yes, I forgot, it's for that self respect. Us men need that to.

Happy Family Day to Canadians!
by fjtoth inthis is a new holiday in canada, and i wonder what "pagan origin" the watchtower society will attach to it in order to get jws to avoid it and to instead spend the day selling books and magazines.
if jws do spend the day in so-called "field service," it will surely draw criticism from their canadian neighbours who appreciate the anti-workaholic purpose and spirit of the day.. .

The sad thing about this day is knowing that the Ontario Bethel workers don't have it off. Let us have one minute of silence for them................................................................................................................................Thank-you. Now continue on.

Hi World Traveller, I love BC.
To believe in the virgin birth, you need faith. The bible account tells us that only Joseph, and Mary had spoken to an Angel. If you think that you have difficulty in believing in the virgin birth, well , Mary's parents had a hard time swallowing it as well. Later on, when they saw Jesus do the things that he did they realized that Jesus was someone unusual. That's the only proof that you will have. It's interesting that the bible account is very specific about how close members felt about the possibility of this happening. But I believe that this account was mean't to be there for us to know that he could be God's son.
But of course Mary was no longer a virgin when she gave birth to sons and daughters through her husband, Joseph.

Remember when assemblies were fun?
by Aphrodite ini just remembered when i was a kid and we would go to the assembly, it was fun because we got to buy new clothes and put extra effort into looking good.
when we would get there you could save your seats and even save some for your friends, then go off looking for them.. i used to love our circuit assembly because of the food.
it was at the assembly hall and there was a big kitchen, some of my favourite brothers worked in that kitchen, sometimes i was allowed to go in and help.
