I also love Kathy Bates and look forward to seeing more of her this season. I hope she'll be back for at least a few more episodes.

Did you happen to notice that she directed the episode the week before last? "Making Love Work" was the actual name of the episode, but I like to think of it as 'the nosebleed'. LOL! I thought she did a great job.

I'm a little squeamish about what's going on with Ruth and Arthur, but so far it has been absolutely hilarious. I've been enjoying his odd touches since he arrived. Plus, seeing Ruth dance around while Arthur played the organ has to be one of the most surreal things I've ever witnessed. :-)

Should I be offended?

Not in the least. I think Claire is just about one of the most honest portrayals of "women" on television today.

Okay, there was that whole burning down a house/stealing a foot thing, but other than that. ;-)

i am told by those stupid enough to be called my friends, that i think about death far too often for comfort.

this blemish on an otherwise perfect character is probably a gift of nationality as many of my comrades seem to spend whole days toasting seats in corner cafes, lethargically discussing the latest obituary and predicting the size and quality of the tombstone.

whenever i visit the mountainous village of my birth, it strikes me that i have seen these same people drinking campari in these same bars for almost four decades.

Keep Sirona in your thoughts, Surgery today

sirona is going back into the hospital today for more surgery.

she will be going under general anesthesia to have more biopsies done.. i know its always scary to "go under.

Even though I'm not one of the most popular or prolific members of this board, this is something that I do before I post every single message I write.

Blame it on my JW upbringing, but I'm still extremely conscious of the "golden rule" - Do unto others as you would have done to you. Some of the things that I've read on this board in the past have made me blush, but I've said nothing about it. I respect everyone's right to free speech, but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable saying some of those things. However, the information that I've gleaned here has opened my eyes to the hypocrisy of the WTBTS, so I overlook the items I find personally offensive.

Frankly, if I were in Simon's shoes, I'd be more than a little uncomfortable knowing that my hard earned money went into paying for the upkeep of a board where some of the members could care less about my wishes. How many times have warnings been issued to people regarding the tone of their posts, usage of multiple IDs and the like? Now, how many times have said people actually been banned from the board?

I'm honestly just thankful that we've got a place like this in the first place.

I'm also a big fan of King's works and have to say that at first I was a little disinterested in Dreamcatcher. It wasn't until the 'toilet' incident that the book really grabbed my attention. From then on, I couldn't put it down. Finished it in just a few days which is a rarity for me.

Do yourself a favor and go ahead and read it now. You'll enjoy the movie on an entirely different level. Besides, they always butcher King's works by the time they hit the big screen.
