which life should i choose?
by Calliope infor someone who believes this life is the only life (no afterlife, heaven, resurrection, reincarnation...), should i move to be close to my family?.
even though i have left the org.
they still talk with me, visit, i vacation with them... we have always been a closeknit family.

You should move in with us. I don't know if you're aware of this, but there is actually a JWD commune where we all post from one big room ... it's nerdvana.
No seriously, it's like MQ said. What's important to you? It might be helpful to look at the reasons, but it comes down to what you want to do. It wouldn't be your choice if you went with someone else's "should" right?

HELP!!!! Who can help me?
by Justahuman24 infor some reason, i can't "quote" someone the way most people do with the yellow box thingy.
every time i hit reply, there's no 'ghost' icon on my view page.
the only icons i see are the following: none, the light bulb, the paper, the thumb down, the thumb up, the white x on the red circle, the black exclamation mark on the yellow triangle, the blue i on the white comment thing, the blue question mark on the white comment thing, the white question mark on a green circle, and the white i on the blue circle..

You're looking at the list of icons, under that is the Subject line right? And then "Post" which includes the box you type in - if you have the editor with all the other doodads it's there, above the space where you type.

OMG, I'm going to die :(
by lola28 inbecause it is hot as hell outside, it has to be 113 at least, when you walk outside you feel like you are on fire, someone make it stop!
i can't imagine going out in service in this heat but this morning on my way to work what do i see?
faithful jws walking the streets, should it be considered child abuse to make children go out in ervice in this heat?.

Well that was a misleading subject title! Can you imagine what would happen if someone really realized that basic fact? They'd stop screwing around with any nonsense like JWism and start really living.

Rock bottom for jw's?
by carla inmost alcoholics have a rock bottom, unfortunately that rock bottom is often six feet under.

i think my jw's bottoming out point is endless, no end in sight.

It's going to be different for everyone, so in order to understand it you'd have to get down to what happens inside rather than the way it shows up in people's lives.
It's like the other thread on what makes someone happy when it all seems empty, it's going to be different for everyone at different times. And actually, even IF you do identify the specific thing for you or another specific person, if you focus on that too much you may not see the inner movement.
But I guess most people really want comfort, which is great in a time of need - but is ultimately only a band-aid. Depending on the wound it can either heal itself, or something else may need to be done so that it can be healed. If you have a bullet or some foreign object in there, you'd want to find it and dig it out.
So step one, stop looking on the outside, the surface of the wound. This includes relying on standard psychological theories without inner exploration, because that is only a general map and you need to find out what's going on in the geography of your mind.

It's not even just when someone dies, not to make light of that - but every moment is an opportunity, the question is what is done with it. By that I don't mean you have to literally do something, but it goes back to appreciating life. In just thinking about this forum in the back of my mind the other day I got this feeling like all feelings mixed together, bitter sweetish - don't know if you know it but it's just like every little thing is only here for so long, so appreciate it while it's here. Another way of looking at it is what is really important? How many things would not be worth wasting our time on if we really approached life that way?
