American police Torture 54 year old woman for not moving.....
by Gill inhttp://www.infowars.net/articles/november2008/261108taser.htm.
we should start worrying about this in the uk as the taser gun is being used as an instrument of torture against non violent people already in the usa, the land of the 'very unfree' and our own government plans to arm 10,000 police officers with this self same instrument of torture.. someone tell me that the lunatics are not running the asylum!.
if anything....this proves it.. i know there are other people such as myself with hidden heart conditions who would die immeadiately is one of these were ever used on them.. what's going on in this crazy world?.

Are You Afraid of Terrorist Attacks Happening To You Like It Did In India?
by minimus init's horrible to see so many innocent people brutalized by terrorists.. new york's trains are the subject of possible terrorism, according to well placed sources.. when will it ever end?.

It's horrible what has happened to many people due to terrorism. However, I don't personally worry about it happening to me, I'm not exactly in an urban target center. Besides, no one wants to target canadians, our worst offense is saying eh too much.

it was near, then very near, then very, very near...only once
by oompa in***w9 71/1p.11par.18 let all glorify jehovah!
both the increasing light on bible prophecy and the anarchy of this dying world cry out that the end of satans system is very, very near!
a year or so ago they also said it was imminent....and in 1969 they swore it was just a few years away............so for a fds that claims godly direction...he sure has gotten them lost a bunch on this path to everlasting life....funny...not once did he do that to his org.

Sigh, it's so hard to understand why people continue to worry about saving their arses from the "Sky Daddy" versus actually being more humane to each other.

Ah, The Note Book. What a movie.
by LouBelle inyou know if someone said to me that they just had to be near me... it is a brilliant love story.
i'm not really into huge romance stories but now and again, i wouldn't mind it.

I couldn't disagree more Jgnat, I really loved the movie and I think the depiction of the female lead was an accurate depiction of alot of young women, unsure of themselves, wanting to please everyone else above themselves. I think the point of the character was that she became a woman when she finally acknowledged that what she wanted was of the highest importance. (Haven't read the book so I will concede it might change that opinion) I can relate alot to the lead female because as an early twenty something I was much more concerned with pleasing everyone around me than pleasing myself. With age comes wisdom and strength.

Who Cares About You, REALLY?
by minimus insince you've left the witnesses, does anyone really care for you???
?

I think you know if someone really cares when they go out of their way to do something that is more than inconvient or difficult for them to do, on your behalf. I count myself very lucky to have several great friends this way, of course, my family as well, well most of it. LOL
When I first left my ex husband because I couldn't take the abuse anymore, two of my very dear friends took me and my daughters in for a couple months until I got on my feet (left with the clothes on our backs, nothing more), and believe me it was more than an inconvience to them, it was difficult, they had young kids of their own, a life of their own, it was unselfish love that motivated them to help me, not what "payback" or "return" they would get out of it. I am eternally grateful to have friends who care that much.
There are people on this board I care about, wish the best for, want to keep updated on and not because I gain anything from it, because I geniunely care about them and their journey's in life. I'd rather care deeply and it not be returned than to care too little and make another feel the pain of not knowing they are important. We can't control what others do we only have control over ourselves. Better to be part of the solution than part of the problem.

Vegetarianism Suggestions?
by exjdub inmy wife and i are having trouble getting past the way animals are treated for our food supply and also the unhealthy things that are introduced into our food supply.
we have also discussed the fact that if our meat, chicken, pork, and turkey was not packaged in little vacuum packed trays where we could exercise a large amount of cognitive dissonance, we would not be able to eat animals.
i was hoping someone would have some favorite suggestions for books and resources to begin the journey toward vegetarianism.

You can make a great satay without the meat, I have made it with grilled portobello mushrooms for friends before. It was good. Just get yourself some Tahini, Peanut Butter, Sesame Oil, Coconut Milk, Fresh Ginger, Garlic, a little cilantro (fresh) and some snap peas, red peppers, yellow peppers. (The added veggies make up for no meat, its very filling) It's great with Batsami rice. (Hot sauce, optional)
Heat a skillet to medium high and add two tablespoons of sesame oil. Add freshly grated ginger, (I like alot, depends on your taste) and minced garlic, (2 cloves) then add your grilled mushrooms, cut into large strips (makes it more meat-like) and your snap peas and peppers, saute for a few minutes until tender crisp. Add about a half cup of Tahini (peanut sauce) as you turn down the heat to medium, mix it all together, add your 1 can coconut milk, (try to drain the oil from the coconut milk as much as possible), add peanut butter to taste (alot of recipes don't require or use the peanut butter but I find a bit adds alot of flavor to it.) Add sea salt to taste. Add hot sauce for a little heat if desired.
Serve over a bed of rice and garish with chopped cilantro. Easy and done.

Sweet,
I have seen your picture on a thread somewhere. You are much prettier than Angelina. She should be so lucky to look like you!
Thank you. That's very flattering. Still, I am under no delusion that I'm "angelina" material, whatsoever.
