  if an elder who in the past has sat on a judicial committee, (and therefore being a part of determining the outcome of bro/sis).

  was later found out to have been in a sinful condition at that time, does that make the document (that he had signed as part of the three signatures), legal in the eyes of the board?.

  there was a case in england where an elder had been jailed for paedophilia spreading back many years.

  It happens a lot....threre are tons of secret sinning elders......i know of one city overseer who dfd dozens and was bangin his best friends wife for years....even bought an rv and was always takin it to "the shop" and was doin it at rest stops and parks.......i have never heard of anybody getting a re-do or the like.......oompa

  just thought this article was interesting in view of what has been said in the last couple of years on the forum about the declining number of elders and servants and those reaching out.

  add to that the large percentage of young teenage boys who leave 'the truth'.

  i can't ever remember this much space in a km being devoted to converting men.. para 2 states: "when a family head accepts the truth, he often influences others in the family to join him in pure worship".

  i have been thinking of this all night.

  have you ever tired to tell on of the witnesses that you are happier and doing better outside of the truth?.

  no matter what you say it is never a good reason to leave.

  i just love it.. situation one: we went with a group of friends from my cong for an outdoor trip in my car ... i was driving, several friends in the car, including young but zealous (wish to be an elder...) pioneer sister ... we listen to a queen, since i am a big fan .... albert: this freddie mercury really was a great singer...... sister: oh yes, he is good .... albert: he is really great, i believe one day, maybe in the next century, kids will have to learn about him at school, he will be just next to mozart!.

  sister: what do you say albert!!!!

  I think you should apologize to the Sister you spineless weasel (lol)!.......why not tell her you are not promoting anything, just like WT is not when they keep building so many new buildings!.....you should have let her know that now that there is no link of a real generation to 1914, there is NOW WAY to know how far into the last days we are!!!.......why the fluck did jesus say "nobody knows the day or hour"???.........if that is true then how fluck can WT keep saying we are "sooooo close"???.......what if the last days are equal to gods first "week" of time??..........oompa

  well......i usually can only say i am "just ok".....but have not been out that long......i had really fun friends that are good people.....while they do not shun me.....my social life with them is pretty much over unless i initiate it.....making new friends helps, but there is no way to replace the familiarity of life long friends......but that is ALL i miss and it was not a good enough reason to stay in as i was totally miserable faking my way through as best i could while knowing it was mostly lies....even going for my wife was not enough to keep me in....

  the freedom of thought and free time not banging doors and doing meetings is FANTASTIC!!!!.....i esp feel sorry for my wife on dark rainy evenings in the winter as she heads out the door alone @ 6:30 pm.....i know there is very few bones in her body that want to do this.....no way!!....i wish she would miss more meetings like that............or omg how i love good coffee and a good newspaper on sunday morning!!!.....so those are some good reasons to leave.......

  i may be "just ok" now, but after this thread i will now respond to my friends, "i'm just ok, but that is still a lot better than i was a couple of years ago!"............oompa

  In the past 20 years, have you seen a balanced, educated adult not raised by JW parents get baptized as a JW?

  i am not criticizing those who have gone through depression or a traumatic experience.

  nor am i criticizing those who were raised as a witness as i was.. but i am curious to know if any of you have seen a person from the territory, not a relative of a witness, no recent tragedies or emotional problems, not a young runaway, not a drug user, but an educated adult who began a study with jehovah's witnesses, and eventually got baptized.. when i was a missionary, i met a gilead couple who had been in their assignment for 19 years.

  i asked them about that.

  i respect your path.........i do think our personal faith was a form of self delusion........as hard as i tried to feel it deep inside, i never did.....being raised in it is harder to find i think, you just just ARE what you became.......no real wake up appreciative moment when you KNEW something.......prayer can help, but is is prob selfhelp...just a mental exercise thing..............oompa

  you may be suprised how little voice you will have as you express any REAL feelings.....not allowed my friend.......
