  replacement pets and relationships....is there a rule?...

  i love how on seinfeld the always had funny "rules" for everything....esp sex, dating, relationships...... i had a friend tell me the other day she always thought it stupid that people say not to run out and get another pet if one you love dies...that it makes you feel better and can save a rescued animal and give it a loving home....so why wait?.

  radio psyche dr laura says wait two years after a big relationship before starting another which i think is way too long...but i get her drift and no i am not a fan of hers but drive a lot and do catch here sometimes.

  then another friend told me that the best way to get over a girl/guy is to get under one!....lol...........so i guess everybody is really different and has their take on this..............oompa.

  palm...i dont think you always make the same mistakes....or even make mistakes too much anyway....but ya it is a crapshoot which means you have such limited control so much of the time....so you are a gambler too?..........damm i love canadians!!!!................oompa

  awwww...i kinda sorta like ff's comment..........but cant imagine a pet lover hurting another pet??..........beyond me...........plus, how long must one grieve?...i mean like some do that in a week...a month...a year?..........so some could get replacement pets in just a week or so maybe?

  now get to the people part.....geeze i knew this would be a short topic...lol.............oompa

  How do elders step down?

  catching up on some of the posts a thought came to mind..... .

  if an elder or ms wants to step down, what is the process?

  can it be as simple as saying "i need to step down" without having to supply an explanation?.

  what would you do for free wi-fi?..

  ok...im gettin a bit desperate here in no wifi land!!

  !....new apt and all....i dont want a contract as i dont know how long i will be here.........there are two secure signals i get here and would soooo love to talk a neighbor into letting me have his access info..........and i can walk right across the street and have free high speed internet...so i am grateful for that as i sit in my truck eating chinese takeout and clicking away!...man i love freedom!!!!.

  ...if anyone wants to know...you can buy a device on ebay.....just search yagi and the antenna will pop up...it picks up weak signals and rebroadcasts it in your home...i have used it and they do work great for about 149 bucks us...... but i was thinking of finding who owns these signals and give a bottle of wine...let them ride my bikes....hell i would wash their windows!!

  Are you an 'Ex Witness' or just you?

  i just wondered how people feel about this?

  - do some only mix with other ex witnesses a couple of my friends, and it seems that by definition, they are 'ex witnesses' almost like a religion in itself.

  - i would never define myself as an 'ex employee of xxx' as you leave it behind it doesnt define you.

  i am soooooooo much a jw and working hard to lose that......but it was much easier starting here with making new friends.....the commonality is a great bond....way more real than the old bruddahood...........i love you guys!

  Is internet dating for losers?

  after almost a year of internet dating on various sites, i've concluded that it's not the place for me to meet the man of my dreams.

  anyway, i'm happy i've given it a shot and i've gained lots of experience and even made a few male friends.

  anyone here who's had better luck?.

  The Final Nail in the Coffin of your JW Career

  i know there has been countless threads on this, some say the paedophile scandal, others say the blood ban, some say the conduct of their elders, others say the petty rules etc.

  but there is usually one thing that seals every one's fate, tips you over the edge,finishes you off.i was fading, very closely to full inactivity, off the book study list, and very sporadic meeting attendance, which took me to the very last time i set foot in my kingdumb hall, this is what happened;.

  it was the memorial of 1994, i hadn't set foot in the place for months, but thought a show at the memorial would keep the wife happy and the elders at bay for a bit longer, i drove to the hall being careful not to get there too early(the wife was already there and had saved me a seat) i walked up to my seat about mid way in the hall so a lot could see me, it was packed probably about 200 there, as i sat down ( about 3/4 mins to go) a sister in front of me turned around and said"we haven't seen you in a long time!

  side note: i showed up at a meeting after about a year and a half and an old friend said "oompa, what the hey is it the memorial already???)...........but i LOVED it and laughed my ass off!!!!........see love of humor kept me sane a long time........i miss that guy btw.........oompa....now my story

  mine was meeting with the co and po and showing a printout to them every use of the name jehovah in the book of Revelation (NWT) and asking them where the "quotes" from the hebrew scriptures were....so they told me the truth...we had changed the bible and ADDED them...no quotes at all and then i found dozens more...and ya check insight book under "jehovah..use in the greek scruptures" and duh...there is not a SINGLE manuscript in the world containing the name jehovah in the greek scriptures....so wt loved the name sooooooo much it added it 237 times and has pretty much covered it up by deception that they are quotes from the hebrew scriptures............my wall of doubts came crashing down with that revelation...........and then all doubts were proven too....lying bastards!!!...........and ya, i grew up with that bible as the best in the world, so it only took me 45 years to figure it out

  How can ANY jw approve of changing the frikkin bible to make it say what the fluck you want it too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
