I did not see anyone refer back directly to your post so lets break part of this down.
"I found myself married"---yeah i was lost, kinda woke up and dang I'm married--not "I found the girl of my dreams"
"and for the most part, happy"-----thats convincing---I believe it-NOT. Children with puppies are happy.
"we are still married, with kids" (starting to leave the nest)---yeah my responsibilities are almost done WHOOPIEE! They were mistakes anyway.

If this chick is in any way as appealing to now as she was then, I'm sure you would not want to give all this up for some insanely hot sex. Or you could and see what a huge life change could do for you, and it may be better than you can imagine. Or you could just have a intense short term affair and never tell your wife about it. These are things that that could all really happen. And I did like the thought earlier that you could meet and all would fizzle and you can let go of the chick on your mind in the soapy shower!
Had a VERY similar experience and I have lived with regrets of what I did not do for a long time.....oompa

I am an elders son. He was at my home today when my 21 year old son stopped by (I had asked him to). My Dad would not speak to him and went to a different part of the house. Yeah my son is DF. This was the first time together. I have never been ashamed of my dad before, but have been ashamed to be known as a Jw. I just told my dad that we have sure been wrong about a lot of stuff as he knows, and that I am pretty sure we are off the charts on this position, Dad how could a god that was so into the patriachal family arrangement not want family unity and closeness today and that we would have to talk about it later. My son tried to pretend he wasn't really being ignored and thank goodness my mom treated him like a good grandson.

Suicide
by Nicolas ini know it's a touchy subject, but anyone here has ever thought of suicide while they were still in the organization?
it seem to me that jehovah's witnesses have a much higher rate of suicide than the rest of the population.
i contemplated suicide myself when i was struggling to get piece of my life back together after being raised as a "perfect little jw" when i was young.

I have often wondered if jw rate is higher. I only know of two in over forty years personally. For about a year I think about it just about every day, if not suicide, just wishing I was dead. This was a direct result of the effects of my "awakening." I am getting help, and am a little better. It may be just time making it better and not meds. I did not think of it as an active witness, and I am on a good fade now, but technically in. Try to stay positive and BUSY.
hang in there of course.....oompa.....sounds so easy......also get lots of exercise

Blackboo: No wonder that there our sooooooo many planets out there...and i do confidently believe some of those planets are going to serve other people.
It is good to speculate, however, speculate on fact. I would really appreciate it if you would post ANY photo of ANY planet outside our own solar system. The evidence for real planets, not gassy balls that "may" be out there or some "wobble" of a light wave pattern in a star billions of miles away, is simply not there. There is no telling how long it will be before any other planet is ever found, much less one that can really support life.
