this is a thread to anull our baptisium...

i'll start:.

the borg makes a big deal out of the fact that everyone choses of their own free choice to be baptised, so on that same basis i see no reason why i can't chose to anul it.. i highdose here by anull my baptisium to the borg on the basis that:1) i had been both brain washed and pressured in to doing it 2) i did not understand what i was joining 3) i was a child 4) i never said my baptismal vows anyway 4)had i waited till i was adult i would never have gotten baptised.. therefore my baptisum is invaild ( not worth the paper its written on so to speak) i never was a jw, i'm not now and i don't intend to be ever in the future.. ...there that feels alot better!

would anyone care to join me?.

ditto!....mine is on the basis of FRAUD!!!....they did not tell me they had CHANGED the frikkin bible i grew up with!!!......ADDED not RESTORED the name Jehovah 237 times in the Christian Greek Scriptures/New Testament...........and they did it dozens of times when there is no quote from the Hebrew scriptures which is what they claim they did....and that is a stretch anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!............liars.........oompa

watching one of my all time fave movies on oxygen channel......the soundtrack is my fave of all movies btw.....but the entire time it is on there is an ad in white in the bottom right corner that says.... dance your ass off.

now dont get me wrong....i cuss like a sailor compared to when i was a goodie two shoes dubbie.......but it did make me think that as a kid that was a "bad" word.....you could get in trouble at school for using it.......prob even if referring to a farm animal.....and now here it is on the tv screen for an entire movie???.

anyway....it is bugging me......oompa.

Therapy?

i was just curious how many ex-jw's are in therapy to work through the shunning, family issues, bad experiences while still in, etc.

i go every other week, and sometimes i feel like it's helpful, and other times i feel like it doesn't really change anything and wonder if it's even worth going.

it's not horrible, but it's not really enjoyable to go either and sometimes i feel like my therapist just doesn't understand the manitude of the situation.

yes you should birdy sept no trial and error......too costly.......but a phone call will do......tell them you are exiting a cult or have lost total faith or sim....ask if they have exp in that.......oompa

hope you live in a big city.....that will help

if they have no clue about cults or jw........or the change of faith at least.........just move on.......they will be clueless!!!!

find someone who at least KNOW or knew jws........i was lucky there.......she had employed one and then counseled many couples as she was mainly a marriage therapist.......

and ya.......she gets it!.......that makes so much difference........you may find a jewish therapist that is very familiar with how there can be much stress in a jewish family when one marries a non-jew..........she has had one in therapy for five years!!.......she let my wife know that change of faith or loss of it is a MAJOR EVENT in ones life..........that i am not a nut.........good luck........oompa

and i should still be going....i only went for a few months......she helped because she told my wife that i have a right to friends who are similar to me......as in no longer or never been dubs....and she let her know that it was a big deal losing ones faith....wife only went to two sessions.....i had told therapist that she would not be able to help my wife much as she would not be able to "find common ground" as she was not able to "move to center"........she is stuck where she is because they will not allow that.....

this past weekend i went down to fort stewart.

georgia state defense force had been asked to supply troops to assist in the training for national guard preparing to deploy to afghanistan.

our job was to play the role of afghans and taliban.. gsdf has our own barracks at fort stewart.
