Good experience. Its shocking the way she was treated at bethel. It reaffirms how much this religion is about control and power over women. They do seem like they belonged together and found their peace.

Are The Governing Body Anointed?
by freemindfade infor any lurkers, i just want to put a thought out there for you.
like me maybe during your life as a jw the "thing" that causes someone to know if they are anointed was always a bit of mystery, except to those who claimed they knew.
i had heard it explained to me many ways, and like many things i just said "ok, well thats an answer... i guess".

Its seeing them up close and personal on the TV and in talks which really confirmed my awakening.
Ray Franz in ISOCF said that the only reason they classed the whole 144000 as the f&d slave and not the small group in NYC doing the writing, was so as not to appear too arrogant. Now I guess they're not bothered about appearing too arrogant as they've happily put themselves on tall pedestals.
For any lurkers out there you have to listen to this talk by Antony Morris III when he talks about how the armageddon dead will be charred flesh like hotdogs roasting on a spit - so Christlike of him! that along with him choosing a zone visit meant to encourage an entire nation to talk about tight pants and spandex, were real eye openers - I am no longer under any illusion that these people are 'christ's brothers' or have any special knowledge.

Annulment of baptism for a minor?
by Tornintwo ini've seen references to baptism annulment on a few websites, does anyone know if there has ever been a successful annulment of a baptism?.
eg.
a minor claims they didn't understand a key wtbts teaching prior to baptism, is there any realistic chance of annulment?

I'm talking about a minor baptized less than a year ago. But you are probably right, it would be an uphill struggle, the better option would be to fade gradually. -

Presumptuous?
by Tornintwo ini know this is old news, but just found this priceless quote on jwfacts from 2001 watchtower (yes 2001 not 1941!!!
) looks like geoffrey jackson never read this one:.
"is it presumptuous of jehovah's witnesses to point out that they alone have god's backing?

Just thinking about this some more and does this not prove that a GB member lied under oath? -

I know this is old news, but just found this priceless quote on jwfacts from 2001 watchtower (yes 2001 not 1941!!!) looks like Geoffrey Jackson never read this one:
"Is it presumptuous of Jehovah's Witnesses to point out that they alone have God's backing? Actually, no more so than when the Israelites in Egypt claimed to have God's backing in spite of the Egyptians' belief, or when the first-century Christians claimed to have God's backing to the exclusion of Jewish religionists." Top three reason for it to be cult and/or not the true religion.
by Powermetal4ever inalright, i want everyone to list your top three reasons for jw to be cult and/or not the true religion.
1.you can't look, or wear whatever you want.. 2. blah.
3. blah.

1. Shunning.
2. Superiority complex, judging all other religions and people adversely - including eachother!!
3. Dogmatism/legalism on anything from blood to birthdays, putting themselves between their followers' consciences and God.
plus - LYING about all of the above, EG:
1. "We are the most loving people on earth, we love families, we help to unite families"(but if you dare disagree with us, kiss your family goodbye)
2. "We would be presumptuous to say that" (didn't you say that many times over?). "We are not the judge, Jehovah is the judge" (but if your not in our organization, the modern day ark, you're gonna be charred hotdogs on a spit for the birds to eat)
3. "We are not dogmatic, every individual has a choice" (but if you take that choice know that you're going to lose all your friends and family and we'll label you mentally diseased)
now what's not to like?

Another great video of someone waking up!!! Using our "thinking mind"
by Olivia Wilde ini love the fact what he said about reading crises of conscious: if you read that book as a jw and still think the wt has the truth, something is wrong with you....the song played at the end is simply classic and very appropriate.

It's a bit long winded but really worth a watch, so true, why would Jehovah answers the prayer of people who want to serve where the need is greater whilst ignoring the abused children within the organisation. COC so powerful too, a peep behind the curtain, I'm just reading ISOCF too which I find a great comfort and reassurance the waking up was the right thing to do.
