Is this how they control people?

if religion is, as marx said, the opium of the people, do the borg just have theirs at a better grade than most religions?

is that why it is so hard for people to "kick the habit"?

is that why we feel so strongly about the borg - reformed druggies being the most outspoken and all that?

The statement of the opium thing is just a generalisation and it's also shit. Anything can be generalised in this fashion and it sounds cool and superior.

Fat people dont care how they look

and many others. It is so easy to generalise and make it sound like an educated statement, but it's just another opinion with its own biases. The world and humanity really isnt that simple.

Your name "Loki" is a wolf god who was invented to explain away things that made little sense at the time. It wasnt opium, it was not meant to dull anyones senses or to ease pain, it was just rational people trying to explain things that they didnt understand.

Brand New Religion

new religion.

i am hereby instituting a brand new religion.

we will from henceforth be called the church of wendy mommy.. we are a multifaceted organisation and will have our headquarters in tampa florida 'cause i know someone there and the weather is good.. we have 3 leaders or gods if you will.

I was wondering if anyone has thought of the irony of this post. In reality, although it seems like a big joke and so haha, it is quite sad that many peoples lives are controled and have been ruined by processes that are quite similar.

People invent gods to attempt to explain away things that disturb them and then exhault those inventions to a position over themselves. It happens gradually and seems logical at first, but over time it gains a power all of its own.
