  I was an MS and a pioneer, but not at the same time. When I was an MS, I was in charge of the accounts, which worked out great. Because I would always pocket all the cash I collected from every meeting, and write a check in its place. Then I had written proof for hundreds of dollars for donations I could write off on my taxes.

  i don't think she has posted this yet.

  mulan called me yesterday afternoon to tell me her dad had suffered a stroke.

  i did talk to my dad last night and he seemed to think that grandpa was going to be ok. i had a birthday party with nine little girls all afternoon and was completely out of touch as a result.. i think she could use a hug, don't you?.

  I'm so sorry to hear about your father, Marilyn. If there's anything we can do to help, please let us know. We're glad to hear your father is doing better. And please don't "kick" yourself. You and Dave have done so much for your parents by taking care of them and having them live with you. Just be thankful that they are close by so you can check on them. Keep us posted as to his condition. (((((Take care and our thoughts are with you))))

  Dinner last night with our JW friends

  dave and i have a nice friendship with a jw couple from our teen years.

  all of us are now pushing 60 or in the 60's.

  the wife is an old friend of mine from childhood, the daughter of a very well known elder in our area who passed away a few years ago, and her husband is a man we all met in our late teens, when he was studying.

  Hi Marilyn. That's great that they were asking questions. I'm sure you guys got them thinking. You know, I never got excited when I was in the borg and saw people coming in to the "troof"....but I get excited now when I hear that people are thinking for themselves and beginning to see things on their own. Hopefully they'll come around and keep talking with you guys. You and Dave are so easy to talk to.

  he roman catholic archdiocese of louisville announced yesterday that it would pay a settlement of $25.7 million to 243 people who say they were sexually abused by priests, religious brothers and employees of the kentucky archdiocese.. the settlement is the largest ever paid directly from the assets of a diocese in the two decades since people began confronting the catholic church in court over sexual abuse by priests, both the plaintiffs' lawyer and an archdiocesan official said.

  i've known for years that if i was visited at my home by jehovah's witnesses, i would have become a do not call.

  i would have firmly but politely told the witnesses to never come back to my door and bother me again.

  since i was raised "in the truth", i learned the religion from infancy.

  An 11 year old getting baptized? And she has wanted to get baptized for a "very long time?" This kind of crap never has ceased to amaze me. The witnesses feel that baptism is the most important event and decision on can make in their life, even more important than marriage. But yet we would never see an 11 year old getting married. How in the hell can an 11 year old even make a decision like that? I'll tell you how. It's the idiotic parents forcing this crap down their throats and the organization telling them they will die unless they get baptized.

  I remember one talk given at an assembly when I was a teenager, and it basically said anyone who's around 18 and still isn't baptized, can't ride the coattails of their parents into the new system. So if you aren't baptized by then, plan on dying at Armaggedon. This kinda of sh*t thrown on little kids makes me sick!!!!

  Did you cheat on your monthly report?

  i was always honest with my field service reports, until the time when an elder came over to give me hell because i had only 1 hour that month in the field service.

  i told him that i was working 50 hours a week, had a 4 day district convention that month and couldn't do miracles that month.

  he never accepted my explanation.. .

  Did I cheat?? Hell yes, I cheated!!! For the last 2 to 3 years before leaving the borg, I never went out more than once a month, yet I put down just enough hours so I wouldn't get harrassed. Makes you wonder how many still in do the same thing??
