It's funny how they mention their "human rights" have been violated. But I guess shunning and getting even your own family members to treat you like you're dead isn't violating human rights. Oh, I forgot what a loving organization this is......

Hi Blondie. I always enjoy reading your watchtower comments, but sometimes when I read them, it just makes me so angry. When I read that BS about not having kids, and not pursuing a secular education.....it made me so mad. They have such control over the R&F. It is not even their place to be telling anyone to not have kids, or not go to school. Especially when it was mentioned that they send their own to law school, but of course, that's for the Watchtower's benefit, not anyone else's. God I'm glad I don't believe in that crap anymore!!!

Williams sisters still preaching
by Mulan inthis was in our newspaper today:.
"jehovah's witnesses venus and serena williams still proselytize their faith, but the tennis stars now do so by phone instead of going door-to-door, serena told newsweek.
why the change?

Can you just imagine someone answering the phone and the William sisters introducing themselves. I think most people are going to hang up on them thinking it's some kind of prank call. Besides, I have a hard time believing they do much witnessing at all, especially by phone. They might call from there cell phones while in their limo going from their hotel to the the tennis court. But I'm sure they only get in an hour and write down 20 on their time slips, just like all other dubs....

Netflix anyone?
by DanTheMan in.
this outfit is spending boku $$$ on internet advertising, as i see banner ads & pop-ups advertising their service everywhere i surf.. anybody use it?
is it worth the $20/month?
-

I know Netflix has been around for a little while, but I was always hesitant to sign up, because I didn't think it was worth the $20 a month that I have to pay every month whether I rented 1 or 20 movies a month.
Well, we recently moved to an area that doesn't have a Blockbuster or Hollywood Video on the corner, so I thought I'd give Netflix a try. And I'm here to say that it is great! We probably watch a movie a week, so that's 4 movies a month or so. So it averages $5 a movie, which is around what you'd pay at the rental places anyway. They also have an economy plan where you pay $13.95 for up to 4 movies per month, with 2 movies out at any one time....which is definitely cheaper than the rental stores. But it wasn't the price that really sold me on Netflix.
What sold me is that I don't ever, ever, ever have to drive to get a movie, or return one. They just show up in my mailbox in a couple of days after I request them, (or mail one back) and I can keep it for as long as I want. No standing in line. No milling around the video store to find a movie, which of course, all the good ones are already gone. Netflix always has the movies available. All I have to do is go to their website, and add movies to my queue, and they are automatically shipped to me. I will never go back to a video store. It seems like such a waste of time and gas. I can almost guarantee that if you sign up, you won't go back to Blockbuster again! Now, if you're the type of person who only rents, say once a month, then it's probably not worth it. But I'd say if you rent at least 3 or more a month, then Netflix is definitely the way to go!

"Apostates"! Do You Know We Control the Watchtower - BY REACTION?
by metatron inonce upon a time, a very long time ago, i told a wayward witness friend of mine that i thought that the society was fascist.. he immediately corrected me "nope, they're reactionary".. he was right!
.. and that's the beauty of it!.
for many of us, reform of the watchtower has become a fool's dream.

Yes, I was wondering if you would clarify where you read that if you're inactive, you could be da'd. As far as I know, that is not a true statement. If you're inactive and having sex with your neighbors or get a blood transfusion, then I guess it could be true....

The Disfellowshipping of Jane
by jst2laws ini was preparing comments on another thread and some strange memories started to surface.
one that had haunted me years ago was the disfellowshipping of jan. she was a 30 something woman who had found herself single when her husband ran off with her good friend.
jane was no angel herself though: a slim, suntanned, blonde headed, party girl who's life style had made her quite familiar with the judicial process, which is how jane and i became more acquainted.

My wife was df'd before we met. It wasn't til years after we were married that she told me about all of the intimate questions the elders on her JC asked her. When she told me, it made me sick! To this day she doesn't want to discuss it. I wanted to find every one of those bastards and kick the sh*t out of them. I'd bet my life on the fact that probably most JW elders go home and masturbate after a committee meeting. The questions they ask are absolutely ridiculous. Just another reason we're glad were out of this sick, twisted organization!!

Hi Lost Diamond. You obviously live in the Puget Sound region as I do. I read that little excerpt in the Parade insert in the Seattle Times. I was thinking the same things as you....he probably needed something to put on his time slip for the month. I wonder if he takes everyone out in service in a limo.....I'm sure whatever he drives is very nice....do you think any of the other dubs give him gas money???
