I had long-term growths on my head amputated and they were restored at the rate of about a half to one inch a month.

the friends i do have are dear to me but i'm bad at communicating with them, meaning i don't call often.
facebook has been a boom with me cuz i can keep contact with folks i really care about without being constantly in contact with them which would drive me crazy.. on this board i haven't got too deep with folks.

Is this not an easy question?
by the pharmer ini wanted my jw friend's perspective on something, so i asked them this question:.
if i read a passage of scripture and conclude about it something that opposes the wt's view of the same passage, in your mind who has the truth about that passage (i.e.
who is correct)?
-

" Is this not an easy question?"
You sound just like WT. "Is this not..." means "I want you to agree", so why not just say that's what you want right out in the open? Who goes around talking like that! "Is this not my bar of soap?" "Is this not my sneaky way of setting up a conversation so that anyone who disagrees with me has lost before they start?"
Pharmer (Farmer), eh? Whatcha cultivatin'? Is this not a ploy to get people to "examine their faith"?

What to do when a job makes you unhappy?
by moshe ini started a new job last month- just 3 miles down the street.
i am the maintenance coordinator at a 42 room assisted living community i was pretty excited to get hired as i had been trying to get a job in that field for over two years since i retired from my primary occupation in 2008. my father lived in one of these communites for a couple years before he passed away and so do my inlaws right now.
however, after a couple weeks i am not so happy here.

Moshe: It will only get worse. Every skill you have will be utilized, far in excess of your job description or pay scale. The residents will drag you down. As they deteriorate they can't distinguish friend from foe, and one of these days you will face outrageous accusations against you from some resident. The management (and possibly law enforcement, depending on the accusation) will treat the whole thing seriously and, instead of recognizing the resident's condition, some or all of the blame will be laid upon you. You may face charges, you will certainly not get a reference from that employer! The building will continue to deteriorate. You've already mentioned the condition of the carpets, etc. Things are already spiraling downward at that place if they're not calling in "red teams" to clean hazardous waste (body fluids) and aren't replacing the carpets regularly. Yes, replacing.
There is more to say but I think this will give you the answer to your question. Run. Before you do, though, you may want to consider whether or not any aspect of the job has caused you injury or excacerbated an existing condition. State Disability kicks in for things like that in many places, not to mention Worker's Comp.
As far as helping beyond the scope of your duties (i.e., doing contractor's work so the nurses would be comfortable), it can backfire on you so easily! Yours was a human response and it may save them money but it wouldn't have helped you a bit had you been injured in the process or the repair gone faulty later on. Going beyond the scope of your duties is a negative thing when it comes to claims and compensation.
In other words, the deck is stacked against people in jobs such as yours. IMO, you should get out as soon as possible.

The Strangest Looking and Acting Nut Jobs You Have Ever Seen at The KH!
by Was New Boy inoregon.
google_ad_section_start there are so many after after 52 years in the "borg".. my top two would have to be at my last hall in tigard oregon.. one lady slept in her pickup truck with 30 parakeets, sometimes in the kh parking lot.
people tried to help her with accommodations but she like the truck better.

Parrot, you must have been in a KH about 5 miles from ours because someone told me that someone told her it happened at that hall. The person who told me said the person that told her said that the smurf got up and said "I can't take any more of this!" then exited via the main aisle and main door. Evidently the congregation had a welcoming attitude and made no distinction between "strangest looking" and anyone else. What a happifying experience!
Was New: The strangest acting that I am aware of was a brother in our hall who would occassionally stop his meds. He did this during District Convention season one year and, thinking he was The Christ, walked out onto the field of a baseball stadium while the convention was in session.

Do your elders care at all?
by Mr. Falcon ini currently have an elder body who, for the most part, seems utterly complacent and disinterested in actually "shepherding" anything.
i can't tell if they are lazy or just oblivious to their responsiblities of being "teachers".
it seems like they are the last to know anything and always procrastinate on everything.

My "truth": There are some men in Elder position who care so much it hurts. There are some who are in it for the power and glory. Most elders are just guys filling a position, cogs in a wheel.
The problem, as I see it, is utter lack of exposure to the corporate world. WT is a huge corporation. It runs just like any other corporation. There are too few with "worldly" organizational training such as is gained in a good business program at a reputable college or university. Most elders are lost souls, doing their best and believing, if anybody ever asked them, that they're fulfilling the letter and spirit of the position as near to perfect as any human could.
The ones who pour their hearts into eldership as well as their time and resources are a dying breed. You can't give more than WT wants and WT doesn't want emotional involvement. It's a job. It's uncompensated in a material sense, but a job nonetheless. In today's world you don't dare show your feelings or get involved outside the scope of your duties. The old timers didn't function under such conditions and the few younger ones who do will either burn out or be weeded out.
I've known some wonderful elders in my time. My family has been helped by these caring souls and I hope I never forget their kindnesses. I honestly don't know if my family could have made it without their help. I've also known some real never-mind-whats that have hurt my family and caused almost irreparable damage. The thing to remember is the same thing could be said of neighbors, co-workers, etc., some good, some bad.
Most people don't have a road map showing their position in the stream of life. Without that perspective it's almost impossible to know how to maneuver. Try to develop such a perspective in yourself, then you may be able to stear clear of potentially harmful situations.

Would it help you know what to do if you realized that the party people are bullies? They're bullying the rest of you, the mom, the grandmom, the kids, your brother, you, whoever is involved, into silence.
Tough if they know it was you! Stand up...for the sake of those kids. PLEASE.
