What a sweet, sweet kid. Really humble. That last remark of his went straight to my heart.
God bless him...please.

im not talking about simply being reinstated.
i remember hearing a story about a brother that was disfellowshipped because of the testimony of two false witnesses.
years passed before they admitted to lying about the brother and was reinstated.. what is policy in this sort of situation?
I, too, wondered why there was no apology. The sister had the notion that it was a refining process and since it was permitted by Jehovah there was nothing to apologize for. I think she actually believed it. I sure didn't.

A divorced sister from one congregation married a divorced brother from another congregation. One elder in her hall was not convinced that her future husband was scripturally free to marry, so when he heard through the grapevine that they had gone to Las Vegas and married, he announced that both were DF'd; no JC, nothing.
It took 18 months but finally it was announced that the DF'ings were "rescinded". It was as though they were never DF'd...except for what they, their families, their friends, etc. went through during that time. The elder remained an elder. The sister was convinced that The Truth had won out and never even thought of turning away from The Org. As far as I know, both are still JW's today.
I knew the sister quite well at the time this happened; haven't seen or talked to her in several years.
i live next to jw neighbors.
i was a jw 1000 miles away over 20 years ago, never here.
as far as i know, nobody here knows i once was, including the neighbors.. so there wouldn't be any reason for them to shun me.
If they can't remember to put out their trash (so you end up doing it), why do you expect that they'll remember to help you? That's where your reasoning breaks down, imo.
Stop taking out their trash. Let them learn to do it. Maybe once they figure out how to handle their own basic responsibilities they'll have a brain cell developed enough to think about helping you.
Running a sales pitch is not the same as conversation, btw.

many researchers taking a different view of pedophiliapedophilia once was thought to stem from psychological influences early in life.
now, many experts view it as a deep-rooted predisposition that does not change.january 14, 2013|by alan zarembo, los angeles timesas a young boy, paul christiano loved the world of girls the way they danced, how their spindly bodies tumbled in gymnastics.
If I understand the article correctly, the real issue being discussed is impulse control. Pedophilia is just the example they use. (And why not? Who would click open article about impulse control?)
the final and most important question ... were the wts.

please forgive me if you consider this to be presumptuous, i know i am an ultra-newbie here.
but, i see a lot of threads on jwn that read something like, "what is your dog's name" or "where's your favorite vacation spot", "what's your special name for your spouse", etc.
i give the opening posters of these threads the benefit of the doubt that they are creating them simply for entertainment purposes.
What's your pet's name? Where did you go for your honeymoon? Who was your first grade teacher? What was your first car?
Aren't these the security questions asked for online banking, etc.? It's not just about ID'ing former JW's...
hi guys and gals.
i hope you're all enjoying your lives, whatever path you have chosen.. i have a question for anyone who is currently re-instated, has previously been re-instated, or knows and is still in contact with a re-instated one.. my question is this:.
is the main reason for getting re-instated:.
There's another category to consider:
c.) People who were disfellowshipped treacherously (didn't do the wrong they were charged with or anything remotely similar) and who aim for reinstatement because they still aren't aware of TTATT.
There's actually nothing wrong with their relationship with God, so it doesn't really need repairing. (Speaking from the JW perspective here.) These people are willing to be reinstated so they can continue in field service with the group, etc. It's not for social reasons, and they don't have any real offense in the first place, they're just....true believers!
thank you for all of your support durning the two difficult weeks my mother was on her death bed.
last night at 10:30pm she breath her last with my sister and i by her side.

not sure where i should post this?.
last year i got into home canning.
this year i sooooo want to make homemade tomato sauce, but i'll need a food mill to do it because it's too time consuming to de-seed 52 jars worth of tomatoes.. i've been online looking at customer reviews for various brands and models, but now i'm just a muddled mess.reviews speak about multiple uses and the pros and cons, but i only want it for tomato sauce/spaghetti sauce.. do any of you use a food mill for homemade tomato sauce?

I've used this tomato strainer and it's absolutely worth it. Check around online, read what other people have to say, then check again for prices...eBay is *not* the cheapest, but it's a great place to look for parts if you should ever need them.
The best thing about this tomato strainer is that there is so very little waste. It's beyond easy to use, it doesn't make a mess.
Remember to save the extracted seeds for planting! :)
