  Anyone had a tooth Implant?

  are they as good as they make out, any drawbacks to having one?.

  i'm thinking of getting my crown replaced with one but wonder if the 3000 ($6000) is worth it.. .

  I was in a auto accident awhile ago and I'm still waiting for the settlement I lost 4 teeth in that accident and I'm in the process of having an implant done on one of them the others you really can't tell so I'm just gonna get a plate done.

  But anyway, it's a long process and even longer if you have bone loss because they have to do a bone graft to build it up. So yeah, I think it's worth it, very expensive and long process but worth it. I'll let you know how I make out. Right now I've had the bone graft and it will be another 9 - 12 months for that to heal before they can start the process of the implant.

  My dentist talked me out of an implant. Said they were uncomfortable. So I had a bridge put in. He didn't tell me he had to grind down two perfectly good teeth as part of the proceedure. If I had to do it again, I'll go with the implant.

  Thats why I don't want a bridge either, haven't heard that they are uncomfortable though. Thanks

  Wait, is mine still considered a "crown". Heck if I know...

  Yeh, that is a crown. My crown is falling out due to an absess. An implant is a tooth screwed in to the bone. I lost my tooth when I was 14, I fell over ice skating with my first serious girlfriend. Fell flat on my face and broke my tooth clean in half. She dumped me a week later, never been ice skating since. I'm not an old git either Mr Majesto is just a toss pot.

  my wife and i split from the witnesses about 2 years now....and now she says we need a divorce asap!

  she doesn't want to work thru it.

  lately and for awhile she has been amazingly aggressive to me.....and pretty much everyone else she knows.

  Hey friend, I know where you are. I went through a divorce myself. Even if both parties agree and want a divorce there is still a massive sense of failure. It's horrible at the moment but hang in there. It WILL get better, you'll learn to cope with all the emotions and worrys coming at you. Is there anyone who can give you support?

  living in a big city more and more i notice that people are prone to explode in a confrontation.

  you can't look at anyone more than a second because they'll think you have a problem with them.

  you have to watch your tone when you speak because they'll think you're picking a fight.

  hi, this is my first post but ive been lurking around this discussion board for some time now.

  my husband (the borg) occasionally posts and i had the pleasure of meeting some great people at the apostofest in covent garden, london last year arranged by bestie and sweetpea , hi to you both and hi to freetothink, mr majestic and everyone that was there hope youre all ok.. my story in a nutshell: raised a jw from birth, my whole family, expect one brother and sister (disfellowshipped) are still jws - basically i was raised in a family who were considered one of the pillars of the congregation, we all pioneered and did the whole witness thing, in fact one of my sisters is a missionary.

  my whole jw world crumbled when i learnt about the jw/un connection and from that moment on there was no turning back.

  31 Years A Watchtower Slave

  my other half has accepted this.. after many years of fading i have stopped going altogether.

  i still have friends and family in so i'm happy to remain inactive.. .

  i was never a very good watchtower slave to begin with.. i was raised in the truth but i never really put my heart and soul into the religion.
