it's almost midnight here in the uk.
we've just had a christmas party in our home for some of our closer friends, then we all finished up down the pub.. number 3 son, who is 18, just telephoned me with a serious problem.
he's round at his mates house, where a bunch of his pals are playing poker.

all of us know how patricharcial the watchtower society (and most fundamentalist religions) is.
men pretty much "run the show", there probably are things a two year old "brother" would probably get to do before a poineer sister can.
because the sister is a female(maybe .
What do you tell a woman with two black eyes?
Nothing, you've told her twice already.

I'm unable to gauge the sensitivities of every possible reader. Gee, you must really sweat when you read stories about JW children molested by JWs, JWs who die due to the blood policy, families torn apart due to shunning, etc.
Do you not see the difference between posting stories about how people have been adversely affected by Watchtower teachings and posting stories about people who just happen to be JWs? Twisting a tragic event to badmouth someone's religion is in poor taste and can only be counter-productive.

There have been prophets of doom since before the beginning of recorded history. Christians have been predicting Christ's return since his death. And it never happens.
"What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, there is nothing new under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 1:9 RSV)

darwin on trial is the title of a book on evolution that has ruffled the feathers of the secular scientific community.
though a christian, author philip johnson critiques evolutionary theory from a secular standpoint as he examines the philosophical games many scientists play to protect their evolutionary ideology.
johnson, a law professor at the university of california at berkeley, attacks head-on the often-heard statement that evolution is both a fact and a theory, an evolutionary dogma that has been a major source of confusion for a long time.
Clash,
If you're going to be a presuppositionalist - by definition an illogical stance - at least learn to spell the word. While you're at it, run all your posts through a spell checker. I appreciate English is obviously not your first language but when every second word is spelt incorrectly, it makes your posts very dificult to read. Admittedly, this would matter more if there was any meaningful content in any of your posts. They seem to be filled with nonsense which has just occurred to you. If that's what you believe, fair enough. You don't want to listen to any evidence or even to defend your position by debating properly with those who challenge it (which makes posting on a public board something of a waste of time - yours and other people's) but don't compound the embarrassment people feel for you by mis-spelling everything.

This is a story about a missing boy. I find it very disturbing that someone would use it to take a shot at JWs.

Everyone here is being so dogmatic claiming that the link is at the bottom of the page. But if that were the case, wouldn't Stacey have been able to find it? Many people here just seem to be repeating what others have told them about the link, without verifying it for themselves.

those of you who read the books will not be disappointed!

This is my favourite Christmas song ever:
Fairytale Of New York
By Shane MacGowan / Jem Finer (1987)
It was Christmas Eve babe
In the drunk tank
An old man said to me, won't see another one
And then he sang a song
The Rare Old Mountain Dew
And I turned my face away
And dreamed about you
Got on a lucky one
Came in eighteen to one
I've got a feeling
This year's for me and you
So happy Christmas
I love you baby
I can see a better time
When all our dreams come true
They've got cars
Big as bars
They've got rivers of gold
But the wind goes right through you
It's no place for the old
When you first took my hand
On a cold Christmas Eve
You promised me
Broadway was waiting for me
You were handsome
You were pretty
Queen of New York City
When the band finished playing
They howled out for more
Sinatra was swinging
All the drunks they were singing
We kissed on the corner
Then danced through the night
The boys of the NYPD choir
Were singing 'Galway Bay'
And the bells were ringing
Out for Christmas day
You're a bum
You're a punk
You're an old slut on junk
Living there almost dead on a drip
In that bed
You scum bag
You maggot
You cheap lousy faggot
Happy Christmas your arse
I pray God
It's our last
I could have been someone
So could anyone
You took my dreams
From me when I first found you
I kept them with me babe
I put them with my own
Can't make it all alone
I've built my dreams around you

off limits.
each jw culture had its variations, can you remember everything that was looked upon as being or representing, non wholesome activity?.
dangerous sports, competitive sports, welly boots, this, that and the other.... any continuation/s?.
And to prove it, the purple tv belly carried a purse (tinky winky just calls it his bag) and the antenna on his head was supposedly a homosexual symbol of some kind.
I believe Jerry Falwell started the anti-Tinky-Winky campaign on the basis that he had a purple triangle (a symbol of homosexuality) and carried a handbag. Of course we all know that a pink triangle was the symbol used by the Nazis for homosexuality. The purple triangle was the symbol for Jehovah's Witnesses. So obviously, it's not a handbag he's carrying but a bookbag!
