Have any of you ever heard anything like this before?
Yep, all my life. Any day now, just around the corner, keep on the watch, etc. ad nauseum.
by tuesday "a ministerial servant" posted message on a local religious forum wondering why any witness would still idenfy themselves on the forum especially after special talk given last sunday?
by wednesday the very same nick came up again and stressed main features of the special talk:.
"armageddon is just around the corner.
Have any of you ever heard anything like this before?

i am looking for more scriptures that can prove to a jehovah witness that god is jesus, and jesus is god.i found only one verse so far in 1jo:5:20: and we know that the son of god is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his son jesus christ.
this is the true god, and eternal life.. if you know more scriptures that say directly that god is jesus please tell me the verses the jhw will see plainly that jesus is no way an angel, and he is jehovah god almighty.. my friend said if i can prove by the bible only that jesus is god he will leave the jhw society, and he will know that they are teaching lies and they would be to him a dogma religious sect.
my friend gave me a booklet called should you believe in the trinity?, and is jesus christ the almighty god.
I do what to say that I really didn`t understand what Alan f was gettin gat , but I erace his post from my hard disk , and put it in the trash can
Good idea, evangelist. Reading Alan's posts can stimulate the parts of the brain involved in critical thinking, which would be very dangerous for your belief system. Continue to delete anything he sends you. Don't even open it. Just a few lines may be enough to start you thinking "What if..?" and then where would you be? Also, if you ever meet Alan in person, put your fingers in your ears and sing or hum loudly.
I think you'll be OK this time though. Alan's posts can only affect you if you understand them. Best not to try.
ok, lets see if i can do this without getting carried away...lol.... allow me to pose a hypothetical situation:.
you have known john and jane for a couple of years now, and so far they appear to be the perfectly happy 'normal' married couple.
they seem totally into each other and when in public usually can't keep their hands off each other.
d. I have a threesome with Jane and my wife, John watches TV or reads a book or something

when i first got on h20 a couple of years ago, someone made the comment that jehovah's witnesses was "judaism with a little christianity and a dash of freemasonary".
i think that is very good observation, and since then i have been studying judaism to get a little insight on the origins of the watchtower.
i am not talking about the jews as a "race", i am talking about the jewish religion.
You gotta love that Talmud!!
According to 2 Timothy 3:16, isn't the Talmud inspired of God?

atheism vs. christianity, a response to unanswered questions .
christian--dr william lane craig.
atheist--frank zindler.
Atheist ascert that
in the entire universe
there has never existed in the past
nor now existing in the present
nor will ever exist in the future
any god, gods, or goddesses
of any size, shape, or description.
No they don't. At least I don't. There are certain gods which can be proven not to exist, but if the term god is defined broadly enought, then it's nonexistence can never be proven, for the reasons you outlined. Atheism is not a belief, it is the lack of belief in gods. As such it is not a positive assertion. I don't believe in gods, nor do I believe in unicorns, fairies, elves, goblins, or the Easter Bunny. It is not necessary for me to prove the eternal nonexistence of these entities for me not to believe in them, nor does the fact that I cannot do so tell us anything about whether they actually exist or not.
See how easy that was? No name calling, no straw men, just looking at the view with plain hard logic. There was a straw man. Your initial premise was incorrect (based on a flawed understanding of atheism), and therefore your conclusions, although they followed logically from that premise, were incorrect.
DanielHaase, I do not have blind faith in the Bible. The book has been affirmed by people more learned than you or I (I will not bore you with the names, besides they are out there if you choose to look for them). It's also been denied by "people more learned than you or I." Seems like a stalemate, unless we have some standard of proof other than an argument from (anonymous) authority.
FunkyDerek, if you quote the Bible please remember that a passage out of context is a pretext for a prooftext. Funny how old JW habits refuse to die. [8>]Please read my post again carefully. You'll see I did nothing of the sort. You may also wish to read the original post to which I responded.

1) i am a sister in a congregation of jehovah's witnesses in southern california.. i have a job.
i have a life.
i have a family.
dungbeetle,
You don't have a case. Neither the Watchtower Society nor the elders involved are responsible for the $500 dollars you spent. They had no agreement with you, therefore they can not be said to have forfeited any such agreement.

Isn't that statement repetitive, redundant and duplicative? [8>]

in just under 2 hours, argentina and england will square up to one another in what promises to be the most interesting match in the world cup so far.. argentina are predicted to win.
we'll see.. however, the aggravation between the 2 countries has been beautifully condensed in this article in today's times:.
