Then there are the 'they showed up at the door after a prayful plea'
The 'knew a JW from work, neighborhood' and 'love bombed into the Org'
Suffered a loss, JWs gave a reason
Appeal of uberfying conformist in a world post 1960s sexual revolution (these usually joined between 1966-1985)
People moments where they are susceptible to influence and away we run with them if they eagerly follow along with a study and are willing to do FS.
My mom joined because she found the girl who offered her a bible study to be wholesome and sweet (mom was 19 I think)

For those who convert it is always based on an emotional response to wanting a relationship or going through a moment of personal crisis.

Why is the Memorial so important to JWs?
by Ding inseriously.... there's a meeting where wt dogma is taught... nothing unusual there.... they pass around bread and wine and in the vast majority of khs no one at all partakes.. if anything, it is a pantomime of wt teaching that the "great crowd" of "other sheep" have no part in the blood and body of christ.. hardly something to celebrate....

Before when 1935 was the sealing....We all got to get-together and watched how many less partook.
Now we all watch to see who will take and then write them off as a nutter...
We had our first partaker last year, the gasps were so loud and a few kids exclaiming 'he can't do that' that the man didn't even bother with the wine.....
Gonna be a snooze fest cuz we got late memorial assignment.......wish we woud go back to renting a facility.

i admit i like to follow, just wanna keep it simple and be wife and mom.....rather hubby take lead.
that was always my post-millennial dream too dubbie-wise.
if not ...perhaps bioengineering or world domination.....will meditate on the study

Elder's wives
by Zordino ini still go to meetings (sometimes) mostly to acompany my wife and kids.
i have known of jw friends of mine that have gone to elder's for family problems, dispute's with other cult member's or those hemroid's that just won't clear up.
whatever.... i personally never ever told an elder or elder's a stitch of info about my personal life or trouble's etc.
