WHA WAS THE TURNING POINT FOR YOU IN JWS

hi.. just wondering what it was that first made you realise that jws didnt have the absolute "truth"?

was there a specific event/turning point for you or was it a moment of enlightenment?.

1975/1976 Our Elders explained how imperfect the GB was by revealing all they knew of the history and chronology of the JWs. Being that our KH was run mostly by former Bethelites and Gilead members I felt they knew their stuff. They always said to test all things, to not just blindly follow and to only obey if there was scriptural proof. After the KH was "re" districted in 1981 we moved to a blind faith KH and proved right every warning they ever gave.

Are you a CRACKED POT?

are you a cracked pot?.

that may be the best indication of why you have/don't have the urge to worship!.

worship is man's natural reaction to god...if...god has made him a certain way.. otherwise, the man who experiences no reaction to god (or a negative one) is a vessal made for destruction.. in romans 9 paul goes on an on about god being like a potter who makes some pots that aren't worth keeping and other pots that are worth using.. we are one pot or the other!.

I was born a beautiful and sturdy pot........

Fearful/ Hateful men scared of a child (6½) taught to think and question all things, they set about to destroy me through gossip and verbal blows finally casting me as far off as they could hoping I would smash into thousands of pieces. But God caught me and gently laid me down in the wilderness. I grew strong and unafraid of the men and now serve a constant reminder to them that they are not the Judges of mankind but that God is.....the men quake in fear when I am present.

i stopped going to meetings over a year ago as i'm a lesbian and have finally accepted it.

i was a witness for 22 years, since i was born.

now i missed my friends at the hall at first, but now i have some amazing new friends that love me no matter what.

Since you are already feeling the "shunning" process I suggest you write a letter of disassociation. This way you avoid all the JC stuff and all the drama it incurs. Those who want to have contact with you will, and those who don't won't.

What would you do?

barbie doll's grandson called yesterday saying the his fiancee, wants to meet us.

his hasn't willingly visited us for more than 10 years.

the last few times we saw him, was when we stopped his work, every time we invited to come and visit us and he never has.

ok, slowly awakening and fading at the same time for two years now, and did not plan it.

i tell my wife last night i have been having some interesting e-mails with my dad about the qb from the sept km we are to study this week.

she says she has read it, but does not remember it.

I will try to put a "positive" spin on this one. Now you will go to the Service meeting and be able to help her understand better this level of control. See what you can spin from what the Elder says. With all the clamping down going on I fully expect the kool-aid WT to take even bigger steps in regulation. With you by her side she will be able to see what the tower is doing. And yall can fade quitely together hand in hand...

offers to study after going inactive!!

i just recieved my third offer to have a bible study after being inactive for several years.

hello,, i remember where the kh is if i wanted to attend and i think after five meetings a week my whole life i know what the teachings are without having another "study".

i just found it very degrading and arrogant to assume that there must be something "wrong with me" or that i "needed help".

Trinity

been a long time since i've posted.

just thought i would stop in, say hi, and get your thoughts on this.. since leaving the jws i have tried to be open to all ideas regardless of how different it is from the way i was raised.

i am having trouble with one issue, though, the trinity.

I am not sure of any reason to believe in Trinity.

Is it of great importance to you for you to accept this concept?

Yes majority of religions preach the concept but I don't know many who really grasp it (preachers and theologians included), rather it is just one of the "mysteries" of God.

For the record I don't believe in Trinity and I was raised in both JW's (mother) and EOW with my Dad (house divided...SB and Episc). I have tried bible research and just find it easier to assign a person to each identity as I would in any book unless other wise told of an alias.

It seems to me what the Bible primarily tells us is: God wanted to save the humans, He sent his trusted son Jesus to do the task, Jesus prevailed. Jesus is assigned by his victory over Satan the right to be called our Savior and King. Through Jesus we are redeemed back to God. Through Jesus we are able to pray to God, to have a relationship with him.

Is the "marking" policy of the Society defunct or still officially used?

in my over 30 years as a jw, i honestly can't recall ever hearing about anyone who was being officially "marked" pursuant to the society's "marking" policy based on 2 thess 3:14. .

in fact, i havn't read anything about their strange "marking" policy in years.

this makes me wonder if the society still has confidence in it and still officially endorses it?

Bryan hit it right on the head. It is very much like being Df-ed but they speak to you occassionally or when they think an Elder isn't watching and you meet at the grocery store. But it has its up side too!

I never swallowed any of the BS that has come out of the tower since 1980....lol

I'm Still Receiving Teaching Assignments......That's Odd.

i'm currently a ministerial servant, and i haven't been to a congregation meeting in almost 4 months.

my father, who brings me my magazines and kms, has informed me that i have parts on the tms and service meeting coming up soon.

what's the deal with that?.

Its the latter, you obviously are forgetting that there has been a great shortage of "brothers" for .....well since before I was born in the 70's. You are of value to them and they just want you to come back.......AHHHHHHH ((ahh ahh chooo Bullshit))

Also by keeping your name on pub subscriptions it keeps their numbers looking good!

So, if you are not ready to take the bull by the horns......fein illness and cancel your talks!!

What If?

armies of old have tried to to target the king or leader to demoralize the troops to gain victory ,so.......... what if someone snuck in to the governing bodies agm and blew them all away?.

what would the effect be?

would this kill the spirit of spiritual warfare?
