1919 Appointment? Need Clarification

okay after having a discussion with a school mate about the witnesses, she challenged me to come up with "proof" of 1919. i have never really given thought to the 1919 thing, so i agree to the task.. cd, in computer, i start searching.

all i can find basically is self-applied scriptures.

next i call on a older sister who has wts dating back to 1910. i start pouring over the mags, and the books by rutherford, all the way until i reach 1930s.

Blood and the WTBS

today i got into a discussion with our congregations biggest blood ban defenders, while sitting at the doctors office.

after lecturing me on not having a blood key chain, i mentioned about the flash of blood that happens when inserting an iv, that the blood was "transfused" back into the person.

she didn't believe me at first but the nurse confirmed the drops of blood.. this really upset her since she has been in the hospital quite a bit since aging.

my name is rodney wilson i am currently researching a graduate paper about the jehovah's witnesses and the recent "new light" on the application and interpretation of the 1914 "this generation shall not pass away" teaching.. .

i am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was active in the watchtower society during the period in which this doctrine was reworked -- specifically the mid-1990s.

i am interested to learn how this change was made known to members; the impact it had on congregations; how much congregational discussion there was about it; the impact on members and membership; if it sowed seeds of doubt in member's mind, etc.. .

1tim 2:14-15 adam was not deceived, but the woman was thoroughly deceived and came to be in transgression.

15however, she will be kept safe through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and sanctification along with soundness of mind.. so how do yall interpretate this scripture?.

is it saying that it was eve's fault, that adam was not deceived.

Baptism question # 25

i was reviewing why i can't be baptized.. question # 25: in addition to confessing his own sins, each christian has what responsiblity regarding serious wrongdoing by others that could threaten the spiritual or moral cleaness of the congregation?.

the reference lev 5:1 now in case a soul sins in that he has heard public cursing and he is a witness or he has seen it or has come to know of it, if he does not report it, then he must answer for his error.. are we really under this mosaic law?
