  Help from elders?

  so as an elder, if you have left or are fading now, what specific things made you change your mind?

  is there some thing that most regular meeting goers would not be privy to that made you change?

  i know that you had your elder book, was there stuff in there that was out of line that made you stop and go "no way!"?.

  I have seen others issues that seem to be typical, but as an Elder is there hidden things we don't know about?

  so when i was in and had to say the prayer for a meeting or at home in front of my family it always was a chore.

  i had to try and remember what other people said or how they phrased things so i could sound soooooo spiritual.

  you are always told to say a prayer like your face to face with god and it should be so heart felt but it was still me talking to myself with my eyes closed.

  Is this the same with most or did you have some divine face to face talk with god while everyone just happened to be in the room? And by myself, forget about it. Prayer, what prayer. And at dinner I was really thinking "good lord, good meat, thank god let's eat"

  My husband and I delivered our DA letter last night. . .

  that is, letter of disassociation and denunciation, i like that word.

  .in person in the door of one of our ex-elders and via email to him and a few others.

  there was an added level of peace in doing that, which neither of us expected.

  Congrats! You are now free! It is such a load lifted off when you finally end things. You can move on and know exactly where you stand.

  Share your crazy jw divorce behavior stories

  so after marrying a good jw girl at 18 who was an elders daughter (married at 18 like most jw kids).

  she was leaving for weeks (6-8) at a time to "visit" her parents in the same state(3 hours away).

  i finally had enough of it and told her it was over.

  I take it you are not an ex JW or have been in their organization? As amazing as it may seem that people give away their freedoms goes to show how coontrolling the organization is and should help you understand why so many people in the forum are here for support and encouragement.

  I have ebay'd my stuff and made a lot of money, Especially older out of print things. My Rutherford glass records have made about 25$ a piece plus they pay shipping!
