  Am I an idiot??? - ok, don't answer that... but, seriously... I've....

  noticed that i'm seeing all these things that i didn't see before... like when the wt or revelaton book states something, or when the bible states something... i mean, i never noticed this many things before... before, i noticed only a few major doctrine issues.

  but, now, i'm noticing things all the time.... i mean, i'm trying to take a break.

  i'm trying to not pay attention... but, they are saying things that really piss me off and i'm wondering to myself, what the hell was wrong with me... how did i not notice it before???

  Cognac - I haven't got what it takes to do a fade, so I stopped going straight away. I found it impossible to sit and listen to the cult propaganda and not want to scream!. Also I had to tell my son how I felt within a short period of time as I refuse to live a lie. I want my son to know the truth too and give him the chance to leave although as yet it hasn't made any difference to him. I knew the implications of telling him but it was what I had to do. We are all different and have to decide which way to handle things that is right for each of us.

  what about giving dubs a checklist of what makes a cult when they call ?

  if you had some leaflets printed out and when a dub knocked on your door you could pretend you are doing research into religions and cults ,and you are searching for truth but want to be carefull not to get involved with a cult , give them a leaflet and ask them to check whether their religion fits any of the categorys , then watch them either outright lie to you or watch them look more horrified each one they read , maybe you could try it on your family thats in too .

  i hope they finally can stop this nonsense his wife is doing.

  How would you answer this........

  this morning i had a 40 min phone conversation with my ex husband because i spoke with my 15 year old son on wednesday about the inaccuracies of the jw belief system he has been raised with by his dad.

  obviously ex husband is not happy about this.

  the one thing he kept saying is that even if it is wrong it is not a bad way to live your life............what would you say to this?.

  I think people who say that being a JW isn't a bad way of life even if it isn't the "Truth" just don't want to face up to doing anything about it. Even if they stay in it because of social reasons, it is all conditional and shallow and when something happens in their life to rock the boat they will then see what a "good" way of life it really is.

  Ýou may come to regret it in time because of the JW's being so controlling over their members. It would probably benefit you to stay JWD and read about all the pain and problems being a JW causes people.

  Is my JWD addiction healthy?

  when i switch on my laptop at home, the first site i go to is jwd.

  when i get into work, i make myself a coffee and go back to my desk and check out jwd.

  sometimes, when i am standing in a queue or waiting for someone and i am not near either of my computers, i will browse on my cell phone.

  I have thought the same thing about myself, but perhaps we need to have this in our lives as our experiences have left a big hole. It is therapeutic to have people we can relate to, others who understand how we feel inside. In time, as we heal, we can move on with our lives more so don't worry honey.

  That time of year again... Mum and Memorial

  here we go again... i never mention anything about the meetings or study articles or associating with other jws in emails to my mum so i think she suspects that i am not attending my local kingdom hall (which is true).

  so the line in her most recent email isn't suprising - i hope you'll be attending the memorial on the 22nd of this month.

  the thought of what i could reply is giving me a dangerous itch!

  Hi Misfit - This is a big problem for many of us every year when the Memorial comes around. Some on JWD make plans to be away when it comes around for that reason so perhaps you could do that as an easy way out. I wish you well.

  but i am thinking of going to church,,,,a rather large one,,,over 1000, chwk alliance church, i think i can hide quite well in a cong.

  that big.

  have a spiritual need, but so hate organized religion,,so i am so confused,,yet i use to love studying the bible,,,,dont ask me why.

  Hi Wendy - I been having this conflict since finding out that the JW's are a cult. I have been to other churches a few times and it was an okay experience, quite refreshing in fact. I think as long as you aren't still looking to find the absolute "Truth" in any of them then you will fine. Spirituality doesn't come from any organisation but is very much a personal journey IMO.

  Well since my understanding of "the annointed" has changed since leaving the teachings of the borg, I figure that the invitation is open to all Christians any way. It's being a JW that causes all the controversy and confusion sadly.

  I can answer from experience that I was disfellowshipped but still believed it was the "Truth" so went back and was reinstated. Now that I know it is nothing but a deception I couldn't possibly go back even though it would be better because I risk losing my family. I can't live a life of pretense, it's just not in me .
