Your own Judas: Did somebody 'borrow' the money of the contributions?

Stealing is a very serious accusation (if you don't believe us ask Judas), but it looks like is not that uncommon between JWs. We have been in different congregations were money has been 'subtracted' from the contributions for personal purposes. An elder used some to buy stuff, although he returned the money later, but... in this other congregation the Accounting Servant (is that the correct term in English?) 'borrowed' some hundreds and was discovered and reproved. The money was never recovered as far I can tell. Poor old lady, I guess she will do something better the next time with her two coins.

And you... Did you have a Judas in your congregation?

we saw an elder the other night trying to convince a couple of kids that they were ready to be unbaptized publishers.

and then he went and added that he was baptized very young and they should too.

so, these two kids were feeling the pressure.

We saw an elder the other night trying to convince a couple of kids that they were ready to be unbaptized publishers. And then he went and added that he was baptized very young and they should too. So, these two kids were feeling the pressure. While witnessing (pun intended) that, I remembered I felt adults pressure and peers pressure too, and that's why I got baptized so young. A 'sister' here told me how two elders went to her house when she was 14 to tell her that she was ready to get baptized. And she did.

Did you feel that pressure too?

Does anyone know of a good Hispanic anti-JW site?

i live in a small (very small) town in northern ca.

the dubs come around every so often and put up spanish language jw tracts and other crap on the grocery markets bulletin board targeting our growing hispanic population.

i've been ripping them down but i'd rather point the people to a spanish speaking anti-website.

Star Fallen from Heaven ... Christ? Revelation 9:1 Study this Week

heck, if hubby asks me to study, you guys get to study along with me, too.

this week we are studying the first paragraphs of chapter 22, "the first woe - locusts" from the study book, "revelation, it's grand climax at hand".

i can't pass paragraph six without commenting.. first of all, here's the paragraph in its entirety.

Tell us about it! man! We had to go and hear all those weird interpretations. Surely, the study overseer is wondering why we didn't comment and just read from the Bible. Trust us, he doesn't want to hear what we have to say.
