I do believe there is something (someone) bigger than us little humans, but I don't think is the God of the Bible or any other religious book.

Left the WT but why the loss of your faith in God?
by Luo bou to insure the wt deceived you with its claim to be god's channel but why for so many is there a subsequent loss of faith in god ?
it puzzles me and makes me wonder why they were jw's in the first place..

How did you feel about attending another church?
by digderidoo inthis question is for those who have attended another church since leaving the jw's.. i have considered attending a local church, firstly out of curiosity and secondly because i do enjoy discussing the bible with people and learning new thoughts on scripture.. the only thing that stops me though is crossing that line.
i guess it was a bit like when i first posted here, it took me ages to pluck up the courage and now what was the big deal?.
did anyone else have this feeling before attending another church, that feeling of crossing the line of no return.

another newbie
by Adrianoblue ini`ve been "hanging around" on this jw.net for a while, so this is my very first posting.
i`m a former jw from germany, learnt the truth at the age of 20, got babtized 3 years later, and left the wt (for various reasons) about 4 years ago.
so i just like to say a warm friendly "hello" to everyone.

Comments you will NOT hear at the Congregation Bible Study Week Starting March 9
by LUKEWARM ini have recently joined after spending over 12 months lurking reading posts and evaluating/digesting the truth about the truth.
i learned all about ray franz here and after reading both of his books feel a great deal of appreciation toward the man for what i can only describe as a labour of love on his part.. .
(romans 9:1) how, though, can we make sure that our conscience is in harmony with jehovahs holy spirit?

Doesn't this quote ring a bell?
by WingCommander in"when our own thoughts are forbidden, when our questions are not allowed and our doubts are punished, when contacts and friendships outside of the organization are censored, we are being abused for an end that never justifies its means.
when our heart aches knowing we have made friendships and secret attachments that will be forever forbidden if we leave, we are in danger.
when we consider staying in a group because we cannot bear the loss, disappointment and sorrow our leaving will cause for ourselves and those we have come to love, we are in a cult.

I always re-read that quote whenever I see it. How true.

I can reject the emblems from the comfort of my sofa, thank you kindly.
by Nathan Natas insoon jehovah's witnesses will begin their annual ritual of inviting members of the public to participate with them in the rejection of the emblems representing the body and blood of the sacrificial "lamb of god," jesus christ.. the justification they offer for this bizarre practice is that only those who anticipate heavenly life should partake of these emblems.
since the vast majority of jehovah's witnesses believe their future is earthbound, most of the attendees at the memorial pass the wine and unleavened bread along without so much as a sip or a nibble, and the emcee of the event makes every effort to discourage participation by the unworthy.. witnesses say that the new testament is a message intended, not for mankind in general, but specifically for those spirit-begotten future heaven dwellers.
if that is the case, then jesus' admonition to "keep doing this in remembrance of me" is also directed at the anointed, not at the general hoi polloi who aspire to a terrestrial eternity.. like most of jehovah's witnesses, i reject the emblems, but i reject them because i'm an atheist, and i doubt that the biblical sacrificial jesus really existed.. i find that it is much more convenient for me to reject the emblems from the comfort of my sofa while watching the parables of fellow atheist seth macfarlane as revealed by the cartoon show family guy on my tv.. paradoxically enough, i can do this while consuming a pizza and a nice chianti, and i don't have to worry about who else has spread their germs on the cup i'm drinking from.. .

The confusion between Christ "arriving" and "coming" in WT history
by hamsterbait inrussell started by preaching that christs second coming would be in 1873.. when it didn't happen he published the booklet on how christs second coming would be invisible, based on interpreting parousia as presence - an invisible coming.. the coming in kingdumb power would then happen in 1914 - the master's "arrival".
based on this the wt claims christ appointed his "slave class" after arriving in 1919.. then the beginning of the invisible presence was upped to 1914 - he arrived invisibly in kingdumb power, but has not returned even invisibly to earth (see "proclaimers" book).
so his coming still has not happened.
