  noticed this in the shepherd the flock book in chapter five.. it's a list of things that would merit a judicial committee.. this was one of the things on the list:.

  This was one of the things on the list:

  19. Gluttony: (Prov. 23:20, 21; w04 11/1 pp. 30- 31) Aglutton routinely shows a lack of restraint, even gorging himself on food to the point of feeling very uncomfortabl e or becoming sick. Gluttony is determined, not by someone's size , but by bis attitude toward food.

  It seems to me that someones size would be a good determining factor on their attitude toward food. Unless of course they are just fat because they have a "glandular problem" or they are just "big boned" LOL these are the usual excuses.

  If the elders are not to determine gluttony from size then how do they determine ones attitude toward food?

  At what point did you realize JW's were a Cult?

  most of us x-jw's at one point no doubt defended the jw's when called a cult.

  althought being out since 95', when i first came here it took awhile before i could use the cult word to describe the jw religion.

  finding out about the pedophile scandal was disgusting, but it was probably finding out here about the wts history and terrible personal experiences of some on this board that made me finally admit that the jw's were a cult.

  i can't remember how to insert this youtube video directly into the post.. if anyone else wants to have a try i'd appreciate it.

  this video is a list of rules that palmarian's have to follow many of the rules ring bells of the jw cult check it out.. one of my employees belongs he always wears long sleeve turtle necks to be safe and he won't even talk to me unless it's about business.

  two of his children work for me also and they won't even make eye contact with me.. and i thought the borg was wierd.

  A gem of hypocrasy from 1887 Watchtower

  came accross this piece from the 1887 watchtower tonight.... have a read... you can see russell criticising the protestants for how they are not allowed to teach anything that is not sanctioned by the church.. sounds mighty familier...and can be mirrored right back at the wt.. watchtower 1887. .

  page 923 april 1887 (caps and italics russells and the wt).

  nor should we ignore the assistance of any of god's children in seeking an understanding of the scriptures, but we should give attention to them only so far and so long, as they teach and explain the bible, in harmony with the bible.

  Just before I left, I had another elder (I was also an elder) tell me that perhaps I studied too much and that's why I had problems with the blood issue. He then told me that the brothers in Brooklyn were much more adept at study of the Bible and I should trust them instead of doing my own study.
