  this is my 2nd christmas after leaving the jw's.

  last year there was drama surrounding the time and i never really focused on it.

  this year is differant and i'm having a hard time with it.

  WTBTS Downplays Marital Problems Among JWs

  the jan 15, 2011 watchtower study edition has a study article that will be studied on march 7-13, 2011 (respect marriage as a gift from god).

  in it the wtbts tries to minimize and distort the high rate of divorce among jw's.

  The Watchtower society has to keep up appearances before it's members. They have the troof so life inside the organization must be better then it is in the outside world. If they told the real truth, the rank and file might start thinking they are not in "God's organization".

  Since many of the partakers are probably fake, and those who are not fake are not important anyway, why don't they just show a video of the governing body partaking of the emblems on Memorial night and let it go at that?

  boy she didn't know what she was walking into.

  it was a wealthy (she drove a lexus and was very well dressed) middle aged woman with a younger girl.

  she used the typical line this time of year asking if i knew where the origins of christmas came from.

  I wish I could have opportunities like that and I may in years from now but at this point unless we move we are so well known in the area I have to watch what I say to anybody even somewhat related to this insidious cult.

  Congratulations to you for remaining so calm and logical in your discussion with these poor people. You have planted some good seeds, let's hope they grow.

  The GOVERNING BODY doesn't make the polices.......

  oddly enough....the governing body don't make the policies; the policies make the governing body!.

  think of it this way.... the economy is every transaction, asset and liability within our country which is inside a greater context of the world markets.. each family has their little piece of the greater pie: debts, savings, purchases, credit-you name it.. but--get this--nobody is in charge of the economy.

  nobody runs it.

  I totally see what you are saying Terry and I believe it to be the case in many circumstances especially when the medium you speak of cannot be logically explained like religion and economics.

  I was happy to see you were still going to be around. I always enjoy reading your posts and I congratulate you on your attainment of enlightenment.

  Enlightenment is the best cure for guilt.

  Guilt is the thing that started when somebody took a bite of a piece of fruit they were told not to eat.

  could it be guilt that started the aging process?
