  i had one (elder) who loved to pick on the sisters who had an unbeliveing mate......he had short mans syndrome and got a kick out of it.. co, han hubler...anyone that knew him will know what i mean.. he was so disliked it was hard to get anyone to have him for a meal when he visited..

  In an elders meeting two of the elders started arguing and stood up to start to fight and one of them said let's go outside and settle this. It never did turn into a fight.

  I'm sorry I'm going to have to miss this exciting thought provoking vital information. I'm sure it will be the best District convention ever. It will encourage all to greater works in service to Jehovah. This convention will be the one that convinces all in attendance to quit their jobs and start regular pioneering.

  from puritan times there was an urge to expand the kingdom of god on earth by creating as many communities of christians as possible.. this was to be done by setting a "pure" example of utopian harmony.

  a "shining city on a hill" with a beacon of light for all nations to see.. perfectionism and personality development was key.. .

  it was to be christianity by example!.

  Good summary of the psychology of Watchtower motivations. The actions of the leaders of WTBTS have brought this organization down and it's sad to see so many Rank and File Jdubs still being manipulated them. I wish it would end.

  this is something that has kind of dawned on me recently.

  i searched this forum to see if anyone else has discussed it and couldn't really find anything about it.. i'm sure every religion has their explanation - but i can't imagine any being too far off from the jws.

  the point of the scripture - from the jws pov - is that jehovah menuevers matters by forcing the nations' leaders (or those of the un - scarlet wild beast) to have a united and simultaneous idea of destroying religions (babylon the great).

  Man has accomplished a lot more then they ever did at the tower of babel so why doesn't he confuse us all again. After all, isn't man close to finding the key to continuous life?

  What the hell is free will in a religious point of view? Seems to me that Christians, Muslims, Jews, and many other religious followers don't really have free will because they let some man, woman or book tell them what's right and what's wrong.

  God put's nothing into hearts and if it even exists and is hanging out somewhere in the universe I say it is not trying to put anything into anyones hearts. I don't think it cares what we do.

  New Light @ The 2011 District Convention

  " at the bottom of the image on the back of the invitation raises some eyebrows, but last night in the routine district convention article during the service meeting, i caught that one of the paragraphs mentioned that we would be encouraged to keep a copy of the tract in hand for a discussion during sunday's last talk.

  my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?

  " represents, or some other fangled idea.
