    TRUST IN JEHOVAH

    AS THE END DRAWS NEAR

“Trust in Jehovah, you people, for all times.”—ISA. 26:4.

    O PENING COMMENTS

I’ll start with the first sentence:

WE LIVE in a world where millions no

longer know whom or what to trust,

perhaps because they have been hurt or

disappointed too many times. What a contrast

    to Jehovah’s servants!

How many disappointments have jws (Bible Students) had with the end coming in 1914, 1915, 1920, 1925, 1940’s, 1975, (1984—generation 70 years), (1994—generation 80 years) to have the generation concept pulled out from under their feet in 1995?

How many times have jws been hurt by doctrines/policies that changed then changed back to the original? Resurrection of people of Sodom and Gomorrah, required to scream when raped/not required, superior authorities secular authorities, God and Jesus, then back to secular authorities, organ transplants okay (pre 1967), 1967-1980 df’ing offense, 1980 back to okay.

    Is that a contrast?

    START OF ARTICLE

    1. What contrast is there between God’s servants

    and people in the world?

WE LIVE in a world where millions no

longer know whom or what to trust,

perhaps because they have been hurt or disappointed

too many times. What a contrast

to Jehovah’s servants! Guided by godly wisdom,

they know better than to place their

trust in this world or its “nobles.” (Ps. 146:3)

Rather, they place their lives and their future

in Jehovah’s hands, knowing that he loves

them and that he always fulfills his Word.

    —Rom. 3:4; 8:38, 39.

    COMMENTS

Jehovah’s servants—why not Christians as was by “divine providence” in the first century?

(Acts 11:26) . . .and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.

---jws are told to put their trust in men on earth, in the congregation, in the governing body in New York.

*** w57 5/1 p. 281 par. 7 Trust Your Proved, Faithful Brothers***Respect for Jehovah’s organization means to trust our proved, faithful brothers. These are the ones who through much hardship and experience have demonstrated that the spirit of God is with them. The rich blessing that has been poured out upon the visible organization is evidence that the governing body and those who represent it are deserving of our full support and trust. This we can demonstrate only by accepting every provision as coming from the Lord through the “faithful and discreet slave.”

[God] always fulfills his word—as explained by the WTS? 1914, 1915…..?

    2. How did Joshua attest to God’s trustworthiness?

2 Joshua of old attested to God’s trustworthiness.

Toward the end of his life, he said to

his fellow Israelites: “You well know with all

your hearts and with all your souls that not

one word out of all the good words that Jehovah

your God has spoken to you has

failed. They have all come true for you.”

    —Josh. 23:14.

    COMMENTS

    So have all the words of God (or rather the WTS/GB/FDS) come true? 1914, 1915, 1920, 1925, 1940’s, 1975, 1984, 1994……….

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eschatology_of_Jehovah's_Witnesses

The religion's doctrines surrounding 1914 are the legacy of a series of emphatic claims regarding the years 1799, [4] 1874, [4] 1878, [5] 1914, [6] 1918 [7] and 1925 [8] made in the Watch Tower Society's publications between 1879 and 1924. Claims about the significance of those years, including the presence of Jesus Christ, the beginning of the " last days ", the destruction of worldly governments and the earthly resurrection of Jewish patriarchs, were successively abandoned. [9] In 1922 the society's principal journal, Watch Tower, described its chronology as "no stronger than its weakest link", but also claimed the chronological relationships to be "of divine origin and divinely corroborated...in a class by itself, absolutely and unqualifiedly correct" [10] and "indisputable facts", [4] while repudiation of Russell's teachings was described as "equivalent to a repudiation of the Lord". [11]

The Watch Tower Society has admitted its early leaders promoted "incomplete, even inaccurate concepts". [12] The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses says that, unlike Old Testamentprophets , its interpretations of the Bible are not inspired or infallible . [13][14][15] Witness publications say that Bible prophecies can be fully understood only after their fulfillment, citing examples of biblical figures who did not understand the meaning of prophecies they received. Watch Tower publications often cite Proverbs 4:18, "The path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established" ( NWT ) to support their view that there would be an increase in knowledge during "the time of the end". Jehovah's Witnesses state that this increase in knowledge needs adjustments. Watch Tower publications also say that unfulfilled expectations are partly due to

    3. God’s name reveals what about him?

3 Jehovah fulfills his promises, not just

out of love for his servants but especially

    for the sake of his own name. (Ex. 3:13,14;

    1 Sam. 12:22) Concerning

    the divine name, the introduction

    to The Emphasized Bible, by

    J. B. Rotherham, states: “[It] becomes

    a most gracious promise;

    the Divine capacity of adaptation

    to any circumstances, any difficulties,

    any necessities that may

    arise . . . [It is] a promise, . . . a revelation,

    a memorial, a pledge.

To this Name, God will ever be

faithful; of it He will never be

    ashamed.”

    COMMENTS

Is it his actual name or the reputation? How does God feel about people who say they carry his name and make promises in his name that do not come true, 1975, e.g.?

Does “Jehovah” appear in the Rotherham Emphasized Bible? Not

    http://new.studylight.org/desk/index.cgi?sr=1&search_form_type=general&q1=jehovah&s=0&t1=en_reb

    In fact he says:

Dr. J. B. Rotherham states in the preface of his Bible concerning Jehovah: "Erroneously

written and pronounced Jehovah, which is merely a combination of the sacred Tetragrammaton and the vowels in the Hebrew word for Lord , substituted by the Jews for JHVH, because they shrank from pronouncing The Name, owing to an old misconception of the two passages, Ex.20:7 and Lev. 24:16...To give the name JHVH the vowels of the word for Lord [Heb. Adonai], is about as hybrid a combination as it would be to spell the name Germany with the vowels in the name Portugal - viz., Gormuna. The monstrous combination Jehovah is not older than about 1520 A.D."

    4. (a) What does Isaiah 26:4 exhort us to do?

    (b) What will we consider in this article?

4 Ask yourself: ‘Do I know Jehovah

    well enough to have absolute

trust in him? Do I face the future

with confidence, knowing that God is

in full control?’ Says Isaiah 26:4: “Trust in Jehovah,

you people, for all times, for in Jah

Jehovah is the Rock of times indefinite.”

Granted, God does not now miraculously intervene

in people’s lives as he did on occasion

in Bible times. Nevertheless, as “the

Rock of times indefinite,” he can be trusted

“for all times.” How does our trustworthy

God assist his faithful worshippers today?

Let us consider three ways: He strengthens

us when we seek his help to resist temptation,

he supports us when we have to deal

with apathy or outright opposition, and he

buoys us up when anxieties weigh us down.

As we examine these areas, be sure to reflect

on how you can strengthen your trust in Jehovah.

    COMMENTS

Does the NT say anything about trusting in “Jehovah”? Why not? Why does the WTS have to resort to an OT scripture?

Faithful worshippers today = only jws

PLEASE NOTE JWS : God does not now miraculously intervene in people’s lives as he did on occasion in Bible times.

Trust in God When Tempted to Do Wrong

    5. As to our trust in God, where may a great test lie?

5 It is one thing to trust in Jehovah when it

comes to his promise of Paradise or the resurrection—

things for which we yearn. But it

may be an entirely different thing to trust in

Him in moral matters, to be thoroughly convinced

at heart that submitting to his ways

and standards is right and will lead to the

greatest happiness. King Solomon wrote this

admonition: “Trust in Jehovah with all your

heart and do not lean upon your own understanding.

In all your ways take notice of

him, and he himself will make your paths

straight.” (Prov. 3:5, 6) Note the reference to

our “ways” and “paths.” Yes, our whole way

of life—not just our Christian hope—should

reflect our trust in God. How can we show

    that trust when temptations arise?

    COMMENTS

Trusting in God or the WTS regarding moral matters:

    1) Necessary to scream when being raped or guilty of fornication (flip flopped)

    http://www.freeminds.org/sociology/women/rape-and-jehovah-s-witnesses.html

    2) Cannot scripturally divorce a mate guilty of homosexuality or bestiality (so if you divorced and remarried from 1972 until this was reversed, you could have been df’d)

***w72 1/1 p.32***While both homosexuality and bestiality are disgusting perversions, in the case of neither one is the marriage tie broken. It is broken only by acts that make an individual “one flesh” with a person of the opposite sex other than his or her legal marriage mate.

***True Peace book (1986) tp chap. 13p. 147 par. 14***This is emphasized by the fact that he acknowledges only one proper basis for divorce. Jesus showed what this is: “Whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication [por·nei′a], and marries another commits adultery.” (Matthew 19:9; 5:32) Por·nei′a, as we have seen, refers to sexual relations outside of marriage, whether natural or unnatural.

    3) Oral sex between married adults is wrong and grounds for removal from the congregation but reversed that in 1978. I wonder if the ones df’d between 1972 and 1978 were allowed back in with their df’ing erased?

*** w72 12/1 p.735***It is certainly not the responsibility of elders or any others in a Christian congregation to search into the private lives of married couples. Nevertheless, if future cases of gross unnatural conduct, such as the practice of oral or anal copulation, are brought to their attention, the elders should act to try to correct the situation before further harm results, as they would do with any other serious wrong. Their concern is, of course, to try to help those who go astray and are ‘caught in the snare of the Devil.’ (2 Tim. 2:26) But if persons willfully show disrespect for Jehovah God’s marital arrangements, then it becomes necessary to remove them from the congregation as dangerous “leaven” that could contaminate others.—1 Cor. 5:6, 11-13.

*** w78 2/15 pp. 30-31***In the past some comments have appeared in this magazine in connection with certain unusual sex practices, such as oral sex, within marriage and these were equated with gross sexual immorality. On this basis the conclusion was reached that those engaging in such sex practices were subject to disfellowshiping if unrepentant. The view was taken that it was within the authority of congregational elders to investigate and act in a judicial capacity regarding such practices in the conjugal relationship.

A careful further weighing of this matter, however, convinces us that, in view of the absence of clear Scriptural instruction, these are matters for which the married couple themselves must bear the responsibility before God and that these marital intimacies do not come within the province of the congregational elders to attempt to control nor to take disfellowshiping action with such matters as the sole basis.

    6. How can we strengthen our resolve to reject bad

    thoughts?

6 Turning away from bad begins in the

mind. (Read Romans 8:5; Ephesians 2:3.)

How, then, can you strengthen your resolve

to reject bad thoughts? Consider these five

ways: 1. Seek God’s help through prayer.

(Matt. 6:9,13) 2.Meditate on Bible examples

of those who failed to listen to Jehovah and

those who listened. Then note how things

turned out for them.* (1 Cor. 10:8-11) 3. Reflect

on the mental and emotional harm

that sin can cause to you and to your loved

ones. 4. Think how God must feel when one

of his servants falls into gross sin. (Read

Psalm 78:40, 41.) 5. Imagine the joy that

fills Jehovah’s heart when he sees a loyal

worshipper reject bad and do what is right,

    whether in public or in private. (Ps. 15:1, 2;

Prov. 27:11) You too can show you trust in Jehovah.

*See pages 102-106 of the book “Keep Yourselves in

    God’s Love.”

    COMMENTS

Meditate on Bible examples who failed to listen—Like David but who was not punished, but his baby son died, his wives were rapped publicly, and 70,000 people died for his disobedience.

Of course, the WTS teaches that God does not listen to the prayers of non-jws.

Do you wonder how much the jw pedophiles reflect on the harm, and the elders that protect them?

Many jws are adept at thinking about the sins of others but not their own.

    Loyal worshipper = only jws

How many jws are only worried if humans find out not concerned that God sees all things and he has the power of life and death not the elders?

Holding to God’s standards leads to happiness (so who is jw in this picture, the man flirting or the woman being flirted with?)

Trust in God When Facing Apathy and Opposition

    7. What tests did Jeremiah face, and how did he at

    times feel?

7 Many of our brothers serve in territories

where endurance is a special challenge. The

prophet Jeremiah served in such an environment—

the kingdom of Judah during its tumultuous

last days. Daily he was buffeted by

tests of faith because he obediently announced

    God’s judgment messages. At one

point, even his loyal secretary, Baruch, complained

of weariness. (Jer. 45:2, 3) Did Jeremiah

give in to discouragement? Well, on

occasion, he did feel depressed. “Cursed be

the day on which I was born!” he exclaimed.

“Why is it that I have come forth from the

very womb in order to see hard work and

grief and that my days should come to their

    end in mere shame?”—Jer. 20:14, 15, 18.

    COMMENTS

Do you think that jws today go door to door with the “strong” message Jeremiah did? Do they tell people that God is shortly going to destroy them and their land? How many jws actually contact a person and talk long enough to say kingdom, Jesus, hope?

(Jeremiah 26:4-6) . . .And you must say to them: “This is what Jehovah has said, ‘If YOU will not listen to me by walking in my law that I have put before YOU, 5 by listening to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I am sending to YOU, even rising up early and sending [them], whom YOU have not listened to, 6 I will, in turn, make this house like that in Shi′loh, and this city I shall make a malediction to all the nations of the earth.’”’”

    8, 9. In line with Jeremiah 17:7, 8 and Psalm 1:1-3,

what must we do to continue bearing good fruit?

8 Yet, Jeremiah did not give up. He continued

to trust in Jehovah. As a result, this faithful

    prophet experienced the fulfillment of

Jehovah’s own words recorded at Jeremiah

17:7, 8: “Blessed is the able-bodied man who

puts his trust in Jehovah, and whose confidence

Jehovah has become. And he will certainly

become like a tree planted by the waters,

that sends out its roots right by the

watercourse; and he will not see when heat

comes, but his foliage will actually prove to

be luxuriant. And in the year of drought he

will not become anxious, nor will he leave

    off from producing fruit.”

    COMMENTS

Another OT example of trusting in God…no Christians?

9 Like a luxuriant fruit tree “planted by

the waters” or in an irrigated orchard, Jeremiah

never ‘left off from producing fruit.’

He refused to be influenced by the wicked

ridiculers around him. Rather, he stuck to

the Source of life-sustaining “water” and

took to heart everything Jehovah told him.

(Read Psalm 1:1-3; Jer. 20:9)What a fine example

Jeremiah is for us, especially those of

us who serve God in difficult territories! If

that is your situation, continue to rely heavily

on Jehovah, who will grant you endurance

as you “make public declaration to his

    name.”—Heb.13:15.

    COMMENTS

Wicked ridiculers, Jeremiah was one of few amongst the Israelites, the worshippers of God (=jws today) telling the real truth not what was popular. He would more accurately represent those who see the lies in the WTS and fearlessly make them clear.

Yes, the most difficult territory is your home territory.

(Mark 6:4) But Jesus went on to say to them: “A prophet is not unhonored except in his home territory and among his relatives and in his own house.. . .

    10. What blessings do we have, and what should we

    ask ourselves?

10 To help us cope with life during these

last days, Jehovah has given us a truly verdant

spiritual estate. Among other things, he

has provided the complete Word of God,

which is being accurately translated into

more and more languages. He has made

available an abundance of timely spiritual

food through the faithful and discreet slave

class. And he has given us the supportive

companionship of a vast throng of fellow

believers at meetings and assemblies. Do

you take full advantage of these provisions?

All who do “will cry out joyfully because of

the good condition of the heart.” However,

those who fail to listen to God “will make

outcries because of the pain of heart and . . .

will howl because of the sheer breakdown of

    spirit.”—Isa. 65:13, 14.

    COMMENTS

COMPLETE Word of God…ACCURATELY translated into more and more languages = only the NWT

But the bible is not enough, there must be publications from the WTS to make it understood.

Supportive (?) companionship = only if you are considered good association not personally marked by others and only if they have time

Trust in God When Dealing With Anxieties

11, 12. In view of the world’s problems, what is the

    course of true wisdom?

11 As foretold, a rising flood of woes is affecting

    mankind. (Matt. 24:6-8; Rev. 12:12)

When literal flooding occurs, a common

reaction is to run to higher ground or to

climb onto the roof of a building—anywhere

of higher elevation. Similarly, as the

world’s problems mount, millions seek refuge

in seemingly lofty financial, political, or

religious institutions, as well as in science

and technology. But none of these give real

    security. (Jer. 17:5, 6) Jehovah’s servants, on

the other hand, do have a sure refuge—“the

Rock of times indefinite.” (Isa. 26:4) The

psalmist stated: “[Jehovah] is my rock and

my salvation, my secure height.” (Read

Psalm 62:6-9.) How do we make this Rock

    our refuge?

    COMMENTS

Actually a common reaction is to have evacuated the area based on the warning

    Jehovah’s servants = only jws

Seek refuge in the WTS organization = the only place to find God per the WTS

*** w06 5/15p. 22 par. 8***Just as Noah and his God-fearing family were preserved in the ark, survival of individuals today depends on their faith and their loyal association with the earthly part of Jehovah’s universal organization.

12 We cling to Jehovah when we heed his

Word, which often runs contrary to human

wisdom. (Ps. 73:23, 24) For instance, people

influenced by human wisdom may say:

‘You have only one life; make the most of it.’

‘Pursue a good career.’ ‘Make a lot of money.’

‘Buy this, buy that.’ ‘Travel; enjoy the

world. ’Godly wisdom, on the other hand, is

in line with the advice: “[Let] those making

use of the world [be] as those not using it to

the full; for the scene of this world is changing.”

(1 Cor. 7:31) Likewise, Jesus exhorts

us always to put Kingdom interests first

and thereby store up “treasures in heaven,”

where they will be absolutely secure.—Matt.

    6:19, 20.

    COMMENTS

As we saw above, many times the Bible runs contrary to Watchtower wisdom.

I spend every day, eight hours a day, around non-jws. Not a one has said any of those things. Love your family, help others, play a little.

I remember meeting some Bethelites that had traveled more places than I could dream of being at a travel hub and having donations from the “friends” at the congregation. They bragged to me, a poor pioneer who never had anyone give me a dime.

What is the difference between a job and a career anyway? What is a “bad” career?

    13. With 1 John 2:15-17 in mind, what should we

    ask ourselves?

13 Does your attitude toward “the world”

and “the things in the world” reflect your

complete trust in God? (1 John 2:15-17) Are

spiritual riches and privileges of Kingdom

service more desirable and important to you

than the things the world offers? (Phil. 3:8)

Do you strive to maintain a ‘simple eye’?

(Matt. 6:22) Of course, God does not want

you to be imprudent or irresponsible, especially

if you have a family to care for. (1 Tim.

5:8) But he does expect his servants to trust

fully in him—not in Satan’s dying world.

    —Heb.13:5.

    COMMENTS

ATTITUDE again is brought up regarding money…the WTS teaches it is not having money but your ATTITUDE, thus many rich jws are let off the judgment seat.

Yes, don’t beggar your family to get honor from the organization.

Yes, be assured that if you are starving that you will not get a penny from the WTS or the congregation unless you have been a FAITHFUL jw for many, many years.

14-16. How have some benefited by maintaining a

‘simple eye’ and keeping Kingdom interests in first

    place?

14 Consider the example of Richard and

Ruth, parents of three young children. “My

Heart was telling me that I could do more for

Jehovah,” says Richard. “I had a comfortable

life but felt that I was just giving God my surplus,

as it were. After praying about the matter

and counting the cost, Ruth and I agreed

that I would ask my supervisor for a reduced

work schedule of four days a week—even

though the country was in the middle of an

economic crisis. My request was approved,

and I started working the new schedule

within one month.” How does Richard feel

    now?

    COMMENTS

Wow, 2 adults, 3 young children and he had surplus. Evidently his wife did not work outside the home. 4 days a week—what country? Was his just a job or was it a career he gained before being a jw? So when was this, how long did this “sacrifice” last?

“Jehovah is the Rock of times indefinite”

15 “I get 20 percent less pay than before,”

he says, “but now I have an extra 50 days a

year to be with my family and train the children.

I have been able to double my time in

field service, triple my number of Bible studies,

and take a greater lead in the congregation.

And because I am more available to

help with the children, Ruth has been able

to auxiliary pioneer from time to time. I am

determined to maintain this schedule for as

    long as possible.”

    COMMENTS

I know jws that doubled their time but did not triple their studies, so what is he saying? Is he really spending more time with his wife and children or does he have duties as an elder that have increased because the other elders feel he has all this extra time? Ruth couldn’t auxiliary pioneer with 3 children?

*** w05 9/15 p. 24 par. 18Go ***And how do children benefit from pursuing full-time service? A mother of five says: “Pioneering has helped all my children.

*** w93 9/15 p. 29***They sold their farm and began pioneering with six of their seven children in 1932, during the Great Depression.

*** w87 1/15 p. 27***One pioneer couple has six young children accompanying them in field service.

16 Roy and Petina, who still have a daughter

at home ,were able to cut back their secular

work so as to share in the ministry fulltime.

“I work three days a week,” says Roy,

“and Petina works two. Also, we moved from

a house to an apartment, which is much easier

to care for. We pioneered before we had

our son and daughter, and we never lost the

desire to pioneer. So when our children had

grown up, we got back into the full-time

ministry. No amount of money can compare

with the blessings we have received.”

    COMMENTS

Only one child? Sold their house and using the money until the end…people did that before 1975. Based on this, the majority of jws should be pioneering. In wonder how pioneering is in Japan now?

*** w87 2/1 p. 15par.***“A FEW years ago, many of us thought that only those with special circumstances could pioneer,” wrote a pioneer, or full-time minister, in Japan. “It seems we were wrong. We are learning that only those with special circumstances cannot pioneer.”

Let “the Peace of God” Guard Your Heart

    17. In view of life’s uncertainties, how have the

    Scriptures comforted you?

17 None of us know what tomorrow may

bring, for “time and unforeseen occurrence”

befall us all. (Eccl. 9:11) However, uncertainty

about tomorrow need not rob us

of peace of mind today, as it often does

those who lack the security of a warm relationship

with God. (Matt. 6:34) The apostle

Paul wrote: “Do not be anxious over anything,

but in everything by prayer and supplication

    along with thanksgiving let your

petitions be made known to God; and the

peace of God that excels all thought will

guard your hearts and your mental powers.”

    —Phil. 4:6, 7.

    COMMENTS

I have met many non-jws who have confidence in God and feel close to him and others who have no religious belief that have a support group found in family, friends, neighbors and workmates, even strangers.

The last flood in this area brought people from Tennessee, the local prison, Minnesota and Milwaukee. All strangers, people from other religions, people learning to put their efforts for good not bad. But not a single jw showed up, because there were no jws in those towns.

(Matthew 5:46-47) . . .For if YOU love those loving YOU, what reward do YOU have? Are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing? 47 And if YOU greet YOUR brothers only, what extraordinary thing are YOU doing? Are not also the people of the nations doing the same thing?

18, 19. In what ways does God comfort us? Illustrate.

18 Many brothers and sisters in trying situations

    have experienced inner calm and

peace from Jehovah. Says one sister: “A surgeon

repeatedly tried to intimidate me into

accepting a blood transfusion. ‘What’s this

nonsense about no blood?’ was one of his

first ‘greetings.’ Then and at other times, I

prayed silently to Jehovah, and his peace

came over me. I felt like a rock. Despite

weakness from my low blood count, I was

able to give clear Scriptural reasons for my

    stand.”

    COMMENTS

Once again the bugaboo story abut the surgeon trying to “intimidate.” Just say no and get a supportive person there. Jws should have made up their mind before they greet the surgeon and have talked to them or have a document clearly stating their wishes. Sheesh. I have found that many surgeons don’t understand how jws refuse blood transfusions but accept products made from stored blood.

19 God may at times provide needed support

by means of a comforting fellow believer

or by spiritual food at the right time.

You have likely heard a brother or a sister

say: “This article is just what I needed. It was

written just for me!” Yes, no matter what

our circumstances or need may be, Jehovah

will prove his love for us if we trust in him.

After all, we are his “sheep,” and he has

placed his name upon us.—Ps. 100:3; John

    10:16; Acts 15:14, 17.

    COMMENTS

MAY at times = so don’t depend on it

This article? Not this scripture is just what I needed…written just for me.

We are his sheep = only jws

    20. Why will Jehovah’s servants reside in security

when Satan’s world comes to its end?

20 During the rapidly approaching “day of

Jehovah’s fury,” everything in which Satan’s

world puts its trust will come crashing

down. Gold, silver, and other valuable

things will provide no security whatsoever.

(Zeph. 1:18; Prov. 11:4) The only refuge will

be our “Rock of times indefinite.” (Isa. 26:4)

So let us demonstrate our full trust in Jehovah

now by walking obediently in his righteous

    ways, by proclaiming his Kingdom

message despite our having to face apathy or

opposition, and by rolling all our anxieties

on him. As we do these things, we truly will

“reside in security and be undisturbed from

    dread of calamity.”—Prov. 1:33.

    COMMENTS

    RAPIDLY APPROACHING = 1879 to 2011 = 132 years, Noah only 120 years, and only 37 years for first century Christians 33 – 70 C.D.

Everything…come crashing down = 7 billion men, women, and children, non-jws into eternal destruction.

Only refuge will be the WTS

What do jws say at the door, do they mention the kingdom? In the What To Say About the Magazines articles in the KM, “Jehovah” is never mentioned only “God,” Jesus is mentioned around December, and the Kingdom maybe once.

    Can You Explain?

How can we trust in God

? when tempted to do wrong?

? when facing apathy or opposition?

    ? when dealing with anxieties?

    CONCLUDING COMMENTS

Next week, PROVE YOURSELF READY! No mention of first century Christians. Remember that God actually talked with Noah…no writings to be interpreted or explained by others.

Moses saw the glow from God’s face not the self-painted glory of the WTS/GB/FDS.

This is another badly written article. (Which the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger is good at creating.) You start with the same stock examples of someone in the Bible (mostly Old Testament) doing something, and getting a specific result. Of course, if you tried it, you would never get the same result. Yet, you are supposed to do it anyways. And it has other articles where people were supposedly blessed for doing more for Jehovah.

However, none of those "modern day examples" (which may well be fake) include any personal blessings. Pio-sneering, becoming a hounder, or doing more for Jehovah does nothing for the individual--and Jehovah is not going to repay you for benefiting him by impoverishing yourself. That stupid example of cutting a work day means getting 50 extra days to waste gas. At today's gas prices, you are wasting another day's pay besides the day you lose from not working. That person is never going to have a decent standard of living, enjoy any of the finer things of the earth, retire comfortably, or leave a reasonable inheritance to children or grandchildren--hyperinflation or none. It will all be a complete waste--and, tripling studies is plausible because tripling zero yields zero.

I honestly don't know how you can stomach not only reading but analyzing these articles each week. I take my hat off to you!

Once again you hit upon a key point: the name "Jehovah" does not appear in the New Testament. It was only added later by the Watchtower in a blatant display of sectarian bias. If that name was so important, I think God could manage to have it appear throughout the Bible. Watchtowerites can't say a single sentence without including it at least twice but NT writers composed whole books without mentioning it once. If a Watchtowerite were to give a talk and not mention that name, they could be questioned for apostasy.

WTWizard - tripling zero yields zero. LOL. Absolutely hit the nail on the head. I felt that there were so many stupid, convoluted thoughts, many but not all mentioned by Blondie, silmply because of the preponderance of them. They never take into consideration the ones who are struggling and I think it is the majority, and how they will be made to feel by these stupid examples (probably made up). In most congregations in affluent areas there are indeed those who have ignored the admonitions to live a simple and pious life, eking out an existence while pouring every ounce of energy into the borg. And indeed some of these reach that point in their lives where they can now slow it all down and pursue a position with more influence in/on and adoration from the congregation. Bully for them I say. In my experience there were a number of examples like that. One brother (a very nice guy) worked in the construction trade. Was a very hard worker and did very well financially. He worked very hard and worked very smart. But many were the meetings that he could be observed nodding off because that is just how much he put into his work. And yes, once he had managed to set himself up he did indeed work less and finally pioneered. Mind you he did miscalculate because armageddon took to long and had to go back to working because the money was running low. And partly the reason was that the life style that he had become accustomed to was hard to let go completely. And his age was against him when this return to the work world was required.

I could go on but I am sure I have lost most by now because of being to verbose. So will simply reiterate my disgust of these articles.

“My Heart was telling me that I could do more for Jehovah,” says Richard. WTF? Since when does The omnipotent Lord God Almighty actually need our help to accomplish anything? What does it say about Him that he's dependent on puny humans that He created and sustains, for anything at all? I thought we were to pray to Him for help, not the other way around!
