i spoke with an elder about university
by MsGrowingGirl20 inhe always tells me that i've adopted him as a father...we're pretty close.
i spoke with him asking for some advice about whether or not to pursue my degree.he, to my surprise, couldn't give me his opinion.he told me that if he tells me how he really feels (he says he has some strong views on the matter) he may be disciplined for 'promoting higher education'....in effect he was telling me to go ahead and pursue my degree but not really saying it.
he asked me to promise him that i'll speak to the presiding overseer and the circuit overseer....i haven't as yet.

.this is crazy!!!! there is no bible principle! nothing! so what, i cant serve Jehovah while in university?
The principle that is used to discourage higher education is based on the scriptue that says the world is passing away and so is it's desires.
So the bORG's questions is why would you want to spend large amounts of time getting an education of higher learning when you could be pursuing spiritual things like pioneering.
This spin is based on the fact that the bORG teaches that this world does not have long before it destroyed by God so why waste your time.
The real reason is that you will learn critical thinking and will eventually start asking questions they can't really answer.

ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE The bORG and it's bullshit.
That video was no different then any other self promotion video being shown about any number of organizations through out the world.
We were supposed to show this video to our bible students in hopes that it would fire them up to become a part of the giant promotional organization that the bORG is. Was it effective? I doubt it.

Many here will pray for you so you will get better. But if you don't, it just means you don't have enough faith. I have been praying for fewer children to die in the world because they don't have enough to eat but so far it isn't working

There is no question that blood transfusions are dangerous. However like any organ transplant that is dangerous it can prolong a person's life. Yes blood transfusions can harm people but they can also save a person's life.
It should be totally left up to the individual to decide whether he or she want's to accept a blood transfusion and those decisions should not be made out of a guilty conscience because someone says, "God doesn't want you to have a blood transfusion".
The witnesses make their decisions based on what a group of men direct them to do or not do.

i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.

Signs From God?
by What Now? innot sure about the rest of you that are mentally out, but every now and again i still have those moments where i think "ok god, if this is in fact the true religion and the organization is right and i'm on the wrong path, send me a big, glaringly obvious sign that i can't ignore.. .
anyways, this past sunday my husband and i just did not feel like going to the meeting.
we weren't in the mood to sit through it.
