personally, i don't think the organization is reformable.
while i was an elder, i tried to be a more moderate voice and as i grew older any harsher attitudes disappaited from within me.
as they say, all the good (and smart) elders have left.
Any organized religion is like the "pot of gold at the end of the rainbow" (it's an illusion). The pot of gold from God is the gift he gave us of wanting to be spiritual beings so the search for spiritual things is the gold we have. Once we get involved with an organized religion that tells us the answers to our questions, the search ends and the illusion begins.
I have been set free from this illusion so why would I want to go back to it?

You have a right to rant it is un-called for to treat a grown son and daughter in law like that. Sure she thinks her son will get destroyed if he doesn't fall into place but that's no excuse to keep nagging and upsetting your family. You and your husband need to have a nice talk and see if it would be good for you to both have a nice Christian talk with your MIL asking her to please let you decide what is best for your family
just wondering, most members i've talked to over the years including me did not really think jehovah was going to destroy everyone that was not a jw or even half of everyone who was not a dub.
even a prominent elder in the cong i was in didn't buy that teaching (probabley because his daughter was not in) .
so how many do you think believe this teaching?

So how many do you think believe this teaching? And do you think that in the last 10 years the WT society has down played the belief that only those baptized JW will survive armageddon?

how many partakers were there in your congregation if we get enough of a count, we can average them out over the 100000 cong's and see how close we come to predicting the total number worldwide.. sadly i could not attend because i am out of the country.

Based on the 12 congs reporting + 1 that I know of, my figures show me that the number of partakers will be 9321 earthwide let's get some more congs reporting so I can tighten up the numbers a bit.

if there is such a thing as "one true religion", then lots of good honest god loving people will die at armageddon.. although jw's don't gamble, chosing the correct religion, if there is one, is a gamble.. .

Religion can't be true because it is created by the ego. The ego is what we try to be but is not truly who we are so relligion is the human's attempt to satisfy God through creating thoughts and ideas that we think God will be happy with when all God want's of us is to realize our true being and living that being. Once we are aware of being we won't look to religion for anything but will look directly to God on a higher level.

it happened last night guys.
i got early to the kh and the boe came to talk to me.
they ask me to read the bible and asked me a couple of questions.
Hope you don't have to go to any elder schools but if you do bring a vomit bag with you also prepare for 3 days of total boredom.

Definitley have a sip of the wine and a piece of the bread when it is passed, you deserve it if you sit throught the talk
