i am so tempted to light the barbeque ...and burn the lot...as it is soooo cccold here in the north west of england!

This is what we did with ours.
Boxed them all up made sure our name was not in any by ripping out the pages with any clues to who we are and dropped them off at a local KH with a scripture taped to the top of the box in large font.

In my company, my partner, who is still an active witness elder, and I will not hire witnesses any more. They often refuse to work overtime, they don't look at what they do as being important, and they sluff off as much as those that aren't witnesses IE: take longer breaks then allotted, come in to work late, eat while on the job, talk on their cell phones while they are supposed to be working etc. We even had one employee who refused to stay a couple hours late to finish a delivery because he said he had to get home and work on his part for the service meeting that night.

Good thread Flipper. As I read the posts, I had a ah-ha moment. The WTS is a club and you aren't really a member until you've put on the show for the elders then they start giving you things to do like holding mic's, counting mags, putting at least 10 hours in the field circus. For girls and women it was being on the school, cleaning bathrooms in the KH and putting as many hours as possible in the field circus.
It's slave training, "be a good slave and we'll give you more to do then you'll be more important than the other slaves.

Does it really matter how we view God, as Christians? Isn't believing in Jesus the path to salvation? So, as long a Christian has a belief in Jesus as their savior does God really care how many we believe he is. I know if I was God I wouldn't give a $hlt what number people put on me. Why would I even care, I'm just going to look on and watch all my pee on little creations having ongoing debates about how many I might be. That's funny! Thanks for the entertainment folks

So what happens if a women is having cancer treatments and she loses all her hair and she go's to the meeting with out hair and she has to do something that requires a head covering. Could she wear a wig of hair for a head covering?

i was talking with "worldly" friends the other day and they mentioned a jw friend they knew who recently had some serious surgery and received a special dispensation so that she could have blood for this surgery.
that's what they claim she told my friends....the husband is an elder, and it was suggested that through his contacts that he was able to get this for her.
i expressed disbelief and have asked my friends to see if they can get more info about her "dispensation" and whether she actually recv'd whole blood or fractions during surgery.
No dispensations that I know of. Sounds like either an excuse or maybe the person received hemoglobin or some other part of the blood that the bORG allows.
Can't imagine special dispensations but who knows, maybe this is the next step in the bORG's loosening up of the archaic prohibition of blood.
