camping information.

my wife and i are planning on taking a year off and taking a jeep and a camper through all the 48 contiguous states and alaska and some of canada.. living in florida, i have always had guns and a concealed carry permit.

but researching for our upcoming retirement vacation, it seems to me that i might not be able to legally carry firearms on my upcoming expedition.. it seems every state has different laws and licenses.

what does a camper from florida do when he goes to new york or california?

I'm a gun enthusiast, hunter and recreational shooter yet I cannot grasp this need to carry a firearm with you.

Just leave them in the safe.

i've always thought about things like this happening because of how crazy some people are, especially in regards to religion.

for a number of years in jw history it was taught that having a blood transfusion was a matter of personal choice that an individual made between him/her and god.

it was not to be anybody elses business.

blood transfusions were frowned upon by the wts leadership (wt july 1, 1945 pages 199-200).

Resurrecting this thread because I never knew transfusions were a conscience matter until so recently. This, coupled with Orphan Crow's following the money trail for bloodless medicine companies, has left me profoundly shaken even though I've been out of the org for close to a decade.

I'm glad at least SOME news outlets are labelling this as an act of terrorism. If it was a muslim shooter the whole damn city would be on lockdown.

Wow, I always gave JWs the benefit of the doubt, thinking they were just well-intentioned religious bumblers. This is, to quote so many others, chilling.

I'm okay with the "fruitage of the spirit."

though i now consider myself a secular buddhist, i just realized today that i'm okay with trying to pursue the qualities mentioned by paul as the "fruitage of the spirit.".

the only one i take issue with is "faith" in the context of religion.

what are your thoughts on the matter?.

The fruitage of the spirit were a constant source of anguish for me as a witness because I tried to put them into practice yet rearely did I see others attempt to do the same.

In the end, though, they're just general platitudes that can apply to any moral code. The bible doesn't have exclusive domain over morality, as others have posted here.
