  What I want is open discussion about the inherent flaws of Islam. I am not "bigoted" for correctly stating that Islam is a flawed religion that openly advocates hate, violence and intolerance. The Koran itself labels Jews pigs and apes and calls for conversion by the sword.
  
  Christianity and Judaism have advanced enough so that adulterers are not stoned to death and homosexuals are not hanged. Islam still does this. Read the news from Iraq and Afghanistan about the slaughter of women for either "honor killings" or trivial issues like wearing makeup or failing to wear headscarves. Read about Iran's policy of murder against homosexuals, about Saudi Arabia's stone-age misogyny and their policy towards "apostates." Leaving the watchtower gets you at most a lifetime of shunning, leaving Islam can literally cost you your life.
  
  However, people like you are caving to political correctness in refusing to acknowledge that there is a problem or by trying to deflect the discussion by hauling out past examples of western guilt.
  
  People can truthfully say that the god of the old testament was a genocidal maniac, mormonism can be mocked for its ludicrous claims, Jehovah's Witnesses are rightfully called a manipulative cult and people can point out the goofy and evil underbelly of scientology all without fear of repercussion but heaven forbid you should say something disparaging (yet true) about Islam!

  If you look carefully at that illustration and observe the crafty subliminal patterns in the goddess's hair, you will see several reddish-brown "ball" shapes.
  
  Since cows were also used to symbolize Hera, and I learned from research on an internet site that cows are made of meat, then it is obvious that those are MEATBALLS!
  
  Clearly, the flying spaghetti monster has struck with his noodly appendage. Bongs for everyone!

  WHERE have I EVER advocated violent confrontation in any of my replies to these threads!? 5go you are way out of line inferring that I hate muslims as individuals and advocate forced conversion. You're putting words into my mouth.
  
  What I hate is ISLAM and the way it is being used as a shield behind which to perpetrate atrocities and spew hate around the world at this very moment. I outlined a litany of examples in my previous post that you so flippantly glossed over. Islam, despite what the apologists say, is a religion of intolerance and hate. This fact needs to be confronted openly and without fear and a serious shift needs to take place within the muslim community to change this. MORE dialogue is needed, not politically-correct censorship "because christianity was just as bad at one time."
  
  And lay off with the red herring arguments already. Rwanda had absolutely nothing to do with religion, it had to do with ethnic affiliation. In fact, members of the same churches were slaughtering each other because of their ethnic background.
  
  P.S. Watch these clips of an Islamic CHILDREN'S SHOW and tell me again how peace-loving and tolerant Islam is, I'll wait.

  NO ONE is disputing that christianity has massive bloodguilt and I despise organized religion in general just as much as the next atheist, but the point of this whole debate is to highlight the atrocities being perpetrated RIGHT NOW in the name of Islam.
  
  Read the paper, visit a muslim country (not recommended), even talk with an average muslim and you'll find an alarming number who agree with these barbaric interpretations of the Quran. My brother goes to school with a muslim guy who seems like a pretty nice person until you talk about Sunnis (he's Shi'ia). His own words were: "Sunnis are heretics and they all deserve to die."
  
  This from an outwardly normal person attending school in a western country surrounded by western values.
  
  There is a rotten vein coursing through the Quran and politically correct coddling with western guilt navel-gazing is not the way to go about fighting it. When people are burned to death because a cartoonist drew a satire of the prophet Muhammad and muslims rally around the world screaming for blood, when women are slaughtered by the hundreds for not wearing headscarves, when innocent children are beheaded because they are deemed "heretics" because they were born to parents of a different denomination, when homosexual teens are publicly hanged or stoned to death by their own government, when leaders openly spew hate for jews and infidels, when all of this is happening RIGHT NOW I believe we must address the issue for what it is instead of shrinking back in fear.
