  yes we've beaten the french in the rugby union world cup finals again, along with the austalians of course, its a repeat of 4 years ago!!!

  we were 33-1 outsiders at the start of this tournament will we go on to win it???.

  The Folly of Calculating the Date of the End from the Bible

  i have seen various ways of calculating dates from the bible.

  the one the tower uses is the seven times, based on incorrect lengths of the year and faulty dates.

  however, i have been seeing various posts right here on this forum (i will not mention any names since all i want is to expose the folly of predicting the end, not start or continue a flaming war).. i have been seeing calculations based on the number of books in the bible.

  have you ever noticed how numbers mean soooooooooooooooo much to the human being?

  1.) How much money do you earn

  2.) How old is he/she

  3.) How much HP does that engine have

  4.) How many do you want

  5.) How many days ago

  6.) What size is that

  7.) What grade are you in

  8.) How big is it (inch., ft. cm. etc.)

  9.) How far is it

  10.) What time is it

  11.) How much does it cost

  12.) How much do you weigh

  I could go on. Anyway...obviously we humans are hooked on numbers. Is it an addiction?

  Our Friend Linda

  julie and i have both known linda for over 25 years, from when she first became a jw, so we decided to write this tribute to her.. we first met linda in january 1981, when she attended her first ever meeting at our kingdom hall.

  she had been taking the magazines for a few months, since just after she finished university, and had started studying a few weeks before, but this was the first time she had plucked up the courage to attend a meeting.

  julie was having many doubts herself by then, and once again linda was supportive, as was trev.

  ahhhh what a lovely tribute. I can see how much she will be missed by so many. There aren't too many blessed people in this world, i.e. people with her gifts of giving and caring. Let us all take a moment to think about her and to think about the impression we will leave behind when it is our time to go.

  Thanks for sharing the experiences you have had with her, among us all so that we can learn from it and know that there are some very wonderful people in this world.
